29er SS: Rig or Inbred or ???

Help me out, I'm new to the SS world, and the 29er world, but I'm pretty sure I want both. I could get on a 05 Rig for pretty cheap, or should I go for a On One or something a little more...not GF. How hard/expensive would it be to build up a SS 29er frame, and would it be a pain? If I got a Niner frame (choice #1) how much would it cost to build?

p.s. Don't want to harsh anyone's digs that might own a GF, all my other bikes are big corporate, just thought I might try something different.

I've got a ss On-One Inbred 26er. Fantastic bike. Comfortable and can take an incredible beating.

I've also got a Surly KM, which I ran geared most of this year. Best bike I've ever been on. Highly recommended.

I was kind of interested in the Dos Niner, but have heard varied reports on how flexy they are. In my experience, the KM was never flexy, and only comfortable.

I'd vote KM, but given my experience with On-One, I'm sure they have a great 29er too.

Well, since i just picked up a rig......but here's my thoughts.
I'm a fisher fan, i just think they are super comfortable. The rig, for what you get, is a screaming package, for the loot dropped, fan or not i think everyone will agree on that. It is however Aluminum. Steel is real right...well not if your heavy, in my opionion. I'm a big dude, pushing 230 from time to time. The AL is a better be for me than steel. I don't notice a "huge" difference riding it but i do notice a flex difference when "getting a good crank on". I don't think one can build a ss for cheaper (the way you'd ideally want to build it) than it costs to pick up one. Then again, i'm already struggling with upgrading mine but there's not too much to upgrade on a rig. Everythings fairly factory pimp....People talk about aluminum and fatigue and what not...but let us be realistic with that...it is 2006, not 1995. By the time you have an issue, you'll be onto you next bike project.

Surly's are no doubt nice the shat brown km is a good call. I don't fit surly well, i'm in the middle of an X and XL where neither is comfortable, on a 1x1 anyway. Slippery Pig is selling a white 1x1, xl, rf dh cranks, sun rims, all lx shit for 600, but it's a 26.

ON ONE, what is it...polish, checz, ukrainian, chernoblyian....not too much experience with it but have heard good things....SS 29er's are fairly bling regardless of what you get....you don't see a ton of them and everyone likes to sniff around your shit. even my ss 26 had a fair amount of interest, i predict it continues to pick up. Buy something now why they are building nicer, higher budget ones, if you're going to buy complete. Pretty soon they'll cheapen them down to accommodate the masses.

Voodoo makes a nice frame from my experience.

Since your initial post i did some sniffing around a couple on ones here in town, one of the shops is HUGE into 29er's they have something like a dozen different frames. Seems to me like you got it hooked up!! I dig the front fork, completely classy and vintage!
