    Laptop Question for techies

I just bought this new fancy pants laptop, and I notice that one pixel or whatever it is, is not the same as all the rest on my monitor. It just stays light blue regardless of what webpage or program I'm in. My question is do you take something like that back to futureshop or do you just deal with it? Is it something that may get worse? It's only 4 days old and been on maybe 2 hours.

You have a stuck pixel and since you just got it take it back.

It's not really a big deal, but it will become the annoying speck you can't ignore pretty soon.

If you know your history, then you would know where you coming from, then you wouldn't have to ask me, who the heck do I think I am.

Take it back if you can, but call first. Often when you buy things with LCD screens they won't replace/repair unless there are at least x dead pixels, where x is 5 or larger.

Some manufacturers, IBM (Lenovo) in particular, have a policy that you have to have a minumum number of stuck pixels to qualify for a warranty replacement, that number usually starts around 12 or 16 pixels, and increases with the screen size.

The way around that is to use, if they have it, a 30 return policy. IBM/Lenovo has this, and you can return a laptop for any reason within 30 days, you just say somewhting like I don't like the screen, or whatever.
