Looking for a guide for ski mountaineering in Cham

    Hi guys,

I have a friend who wants to offer a day of ski mountaineering in Cham to her boyfriend (my best friend). I am looking for a recommendation for a guide who could take him out there on some unforgettable day. He's a good skier, a climber, and we met in a ski mountaineering course, so he's got his glacier rescue and avalanche skills down. My friend will be in Cham from 12/24 to 1/2 and may linger there a few extra days; before that he'll be in Zermatt, but I think Cham is the place where he should get his guided trip gift. He does not speak French (not that I haven't tried ;-)).

I am also wondering if Phil would mind getting in touch with him, to share goods, stories, info, whatever. Or any other local (I believe Tom left? Man, I need to become a TGR regular again...).

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Try Francis Kelsey.

    His Website is:

Please tell him that Gordy referred you. I'm using him as our guide for a skiing camp in Chamonix.

As another option contact Stage Vallencent.
Or PM Idris or Flingle for more suggestions.

As if you have to ask??? Murray Ball. He can take your friend to the places he wants to go, not to mention some he'd prefer to miss.

I'm back ...or at least I will be by next week.

I would recomend www.chamex.com or flingle's mate Wolfie.

Chamex do great Glacier Travel and off piste days.

Wolfie guides the Cosmiques and Rond!

Oh... The Cosmiques and Rond! No, he cannot do that. I mean, he's my best friend but I would just be too jealous...

    Thanks all for the suggestions.

Tom, could he get in touch with you when he lands there?

Michael Silitch is my guide for Cham.
He's from the US, but has lived on this side for years and is certified.

He costs about 400 CHF/day, the going rate in these parts.

    PM me for details.
