Whats wrong with duct tape. Its a skiers best friend
how do they know it was proformed? I'd try to find a way around that.
Bring em to a big retair operation, say you lost the bill. They might charge you shipping...
But if I made a coat and you ripped it, I wouldn't waranty it. I still try all the time, so far has never failed. I buy shit proform from me shop and return them somewhere else for repair or warranty.
Give me a beat to pump to fatty.
take it to REI. if its a brand they sell, they'll give you a new one and send it back to the manufacturer. even for stupid shit. ex: my friend put his sierra-designs rain shell in the dryer on high (these are plastic seam sealed shells which are NOT breathable) and all the plastic seam sealing came off, as you would expect. he took it back to REI and they replaced it on the spot.
try your luck![]()
you COULD bend the rules, or you could take it to a shop on Roosevelt Ave right by University Child Development School and Scarecrow video, and Giggles (the nightclub). I forget what it's called, but it has the word 'rainy' somewhere in the title.
Interesting how it's deemed acceptable to effectively defraud Cloudveil but not, for instance, MSP. Not baggin' on any of you but I doubt this thread would be quite so supportive if matchstick had damaged his Frontline DVD and had asked someone to burn a new copy for him.

I'm confused. How did it get torn? If it occurred during the normal course of skiing (like, in the trees), then Cloudveil should warranty it, or at least offer a cheap replacement. Certainly when a jacket is purchased for the purpose of skiing, we should expect that it not get shredded by a single close encounter with a tree.
If it got caught in the car door and dragged for 30 miles home or something, then he should take responsibility for his stupidity and pony up the $$ to fix it.

You can get gore-tex iron on patches that work really well if the tear isn't too big. I snagged a tree with my Arc'teryx jacket a couple years ago, ironed on one of those patches inside and out and it's still on there - even after washing it numerous times.
Unless they claimed it was some sort of indestructible fabric, I don't see why it's their responsibility to fix something your friend ripped open on a tree. I'm sure they advertise it as light and waterproof - not bulletproof. Not that it hurts to ask - maybe they'll replace it or fix it, but I don't think they should have to.
Pattagucci repairs their stuff for a cheap price. Contact Cloudvail about this, but betcha they'll think about replacing it.
It got cought on a tree limb and tore about 6 inches on his left arm. We tried to get it warantied or at least get discounted off a new one but they didnt find that to be necessary. And there isnt really enough dinero to go and buy a new jacket right now so we were just trying to figure out a good place or way to get it fixed for the meantime.

Don't forget to use seam seal on that.Originally posted by Viva:
sew the damn thing up yourself
Or, go with duct dape and seam seal around the edges. Not elegant, but works damn well.
I've used Rainy Pass via the mail. They did a great job for me. Here is the link: http://www.rainypass.com/ if you do not already have it from Viva.Originally posted by Viva
RainyPass. I've been there and it seems like a good operation. I have contact info at home; if anyone's interested, send me a PM.
Getting ripped from a tree branch is not a manufacturers defect, clearly. Therefore, not a valid warranty situation.Originally posted by Big E

I'm betting you wouldn't want to wear a jacket that is tree-proof. It would be a god-damn suit of armor.
I suggest patching the rip with pirated copies of MSP films.
MSK on Roosevelt Just north of 50th in the University district rainy pass repair , I think. Anyways, they are a gore certified repair shop I have taken a coupple of items there to get fixed Good work and fairly fast turn around I also know that’s there is a place in Ballard or Fremont. That doses the warranty work for Arcteryx. I'll try to track down their name tomorrow. I hope this will help get the ball rolling![]()
