    As I recall in Vancouver, modernizing the land use regulations didn't catch up with the huge growth in population and influx in the late 90s, so there are (were?) blocks of brand new homes/townhomes just a few lots away from trailers that have been there for years.

    At one point in the 90s Clark County WA was the fastest growing county in the US, and strangely it lost that top spot to Clark County, NV.
