Yep tomorrow's a low-angle day for sure. Should be creamy fun, and at the very least a beautiful bluebird sunrise. See yall tomorrow. 9:45 time for bed for realz.
BTW, TH I'm pretty sure I saw you in the parking lot on Saturday...
Really, we're you in Capitol Reef NP? I was down south last weekend.Originally Posted by Particle

Did a bri-sol tour yesterday wasn't to bad in between gale force blizzard gusts. Lower elavation brighton lean
wind blown grauple pooling along solbrit trail these drifts were quite sensitive
Made it up to the top of everegreen peak for a lap tracks damn near filled in during skin up.
Silver lake not even frozen yet
Topher smiling the got some shit eatin grin
Not the ideal early season snowpack but a snow pack of any sort beats the alternative.

Alta this morning was not bad. Still incredibly sparse coverage IMO, but the wind did a number to condense the graupel and snow that fell yesterday. Skied the shoulder above bad news after poking around for a bit. Cold as hell at 5:30 (8 degrees). Was suprised to see things quite stable up there(on slopes under 40 degrees or so). No cracking or whoomping and the NE aspects skied well. Put a good cut in at the top thinking something might release, but it held firm. Very creamy, but make sure you know where you're skiing--lots o' sharks out there. All in all--beautiful morning.
CS--Where'd you guys go?
The Griz
Nice Grizzle. We hiked up Greeley Hill, then gained the ridge up to piss pass. It was freakin tasty. That rain crust is nasty though...got a solid 12" block to shear off quite easily. But it was definitely worse right where we were under the ridge with the wind loading...further down didn't seem too bad. And like you said there was no collapsing or anything of that sort. However another foot or two and that rain crust could cause some real problems...
That said, it was freaking great skiing. Creamy pow, untouched goodness. We started hiking about 5:30 as well...CS' car said 6 degrees...and only 13 degrees when we finished. It was actually painful for the first 10 minutes of hiking or so...but so so worth it.
Ran into Bum Z and DTM up there as well...they were charging those lines like they didn't have to hike for the vert![]()
since we had to park up above Albion, we just decided to head up to Greely. A party in front of us was nice enough to set the skin track too. Ran into Bum Z and Dantheman as well. Good day.Originally Posted by grizzle6
