Christmas already.....

There are some enjoyable parts of the christmas time, but I mostly hate it: my birthday is three days before, by whichpoint my Mom is stressing about all the things she "needs" to do, and now that I'm not in high school, all my friends, are usually on their way home somewhere; makes for a lame evening.

Additionally, christmas day is so structured, it completely zaps any fun out of the day.

Shudder. I hear you, man. My mom would get stressed out at Christmas and, like Pavlov's dog, I now get stressed out at Christmas. Part of it is work related; December is my busiest month of the year, so I can't spend as much time helping around the house to prepare for the holiday as I would like. But a big part of it is just a hang over from growing up with my mom. (May she rest in peace.)

I put up the Christmas tree yesterday. Because Thanksgiving weekend is when my family always put up the tree ever since I can remember... So sue me. I like chilling in the living room with christmas tree lights on, hoping for snow.

Christmas fukkin sucks if you are a skier.

The lifts are crowded with out of town people, who only ski once a year,

If you live in a ski town or work @ a ski area the problems are worse.
Every bar/ restaurant/ shop/etc is packed with people who feel the world owes them a good time this time of year cuz they bought into the rat race the other 51 weeks.
The old veterans of the resort hate X-mas more than you. Your hours suck & even though you may be making more $$ you spend it on x-mas shenanigans.
The resort/town has everything at max price to make hay while the sun shines & this pisses everybody off & they vent at you. No resort is designed to run @ this kind of volume so everything is fukked & nobody is happy
The obnoxious displays of wealth & privilege make ya wretch.

Myself, many maggots and I wager some of your friends DEPEND on people coming here to stay, dine, shop and ski. This message board is read by 1000's of people beyond those registered. Please dont bad mouth our conditions.
