    Thumbs up Larry's Boot Shop

For all you maggots in and around Boulder who have had issues with your boots, you probably know Larry. If you don't, and you develop issues, Larry is the guy to see (28th and spruce). Telechuck sent me there to get some bindings switched up. I ended up going back tonight with both boots to get some work done because they didn't fit exactly right. Not only did he seem very concerned that I got the exact right fit, but his price was also very reasonable. I got the boot work done and the bindings switched for 35 bucks (including a $5 maggot discount, but I tipped him that $5 back), much less than the 40 I paid just for mounting at Hood.

Larry also commented about my letter in Powdermag. He's a good dude. Very reasonable and a nice personable guy.

This may be a repeat, but I just wanted to spread the word about a very positive business experience.

That is the same Larry from BSD.

I like seeing the props for him....I worked for him during College, and he has continued to hook me up for life. Great guy, knows boots, cares how your shit comes out.

He is the man. He will fix you right up. While you are there, ask to see some Swedish Posse films that PowderPig dropped off. Pretty fun stuff.

He once mentioned that the hardest thing for him was eating, so if you go at lunch time, I am sure he would dig a sandwich vs. beer.

He has done three sets of boots for me including modified tongues and boosters. All super high quality work.

how long ago was that? I used to be tight with most of the guys in there because they hooked up my ski team.

He fit my boots, back when ski deals was over on pearl. The first season they were amazing, second I had problems, but was away from colorado that winter, had problems the first part of the next winter, I went into him and said this is what is happening, he took the boots back and in five minutes I had the most comfy boots that ever fit on my feet. He was rewarded with a generous tip. Glad to hear he is doing well out on his own.

Here is another vote for Larry if you are up in Boulder. Reasonable prices and outstanding work. He hooked my boots up good.

But for those of you a little further south and need any type of ortho work done, check in with Tom @ Bent Gate in Golden. Good friend of mine, willing to go the extra mile to make sure your feet are happy. He knows of the maggots. Tell him I sent you and I am sure he'll hook you up. He operates mainly out of the Bent Gate or you can reach him at http://www.theactivefoot.com

Larry is great at what he does. He's been doing the stare at stinky feet retail thing for alot of years, hook him solidly when you go in. He and I actually have similar feet which he found odd when I first went in. Kept feeling my feet and then his. Creeped me out until he said, just take some of mine. This was at ski deals on Pearl days.

I'll tenth that Larry is great guy and does amazing work. He has been doing my boots since I first moved to Boulder when I was 12. Definitely worth the trip from Vail or Nebraska.

Larry is the best bootfitter I've ever known and is an all around saint. He likes stone IPA (just like me)

Also I will second getting him a sandwich or pizza or whatever, you would think the guy would bring a sack lunch, but hes just too busy.

Hes carrying a few lines of boots now in the shop. Kryptons, salomons, lange, tecnica ( i think)

If you need new boots or just want the best out of what you have go see him. Ive got Atomic freeride boots with a custom liner, custom footbed and boosters and I couldnt be happier with my boots.

He sells AT boots now too. Scarpa and Garmont and what have you. If I had the dough, that's where I'd go...

Lotsa threads praising Larry. Never met the guy myself, but recently got some boots fitted out here (suburbs of Chicago), and the guy here had good things to say about Larry.

I guess you can't give this guy enough props. Larry hooked me up with full-on custom liners when some L10s I bought from him didn't fit as well as expected. $350 liners/work for $80.

If you need new boots this season, book your tickets to DIA, drive up to Boulder and have Larry do it for you.

Larry delivered my first child and taught me how to play the mandolin. He also got me a sweet deal on some Super Swampers for the truck and eliminated my groundhog problem. On my birthday he gave me an original (autographed!) copy of the Bhagavad Gita. When I was lost at night in Monongahela National Forest I said a little prayer to Larry and not five minutes later he showed up in an A-Star and flew me home. He is most definitely the mang.

This is the Boulder shop scene in a nutshell. Some guy doctors up your shit, and gives you a deal because you brought him a six-pack, and everyone worships him. It's fuckin' wierd. I am sure Larry thinks so, too.

With that said, Larry is a VERY nice guy who knows his shit. Plus, he is a skate punk from way back. But get up off his dick, he's got work to do.

Funny shit, Ice. It holds more truth than you think.

[QUOTE=Evil E]Larry is the best bootfitter I've ever known and is an all around saint. QUOTE

This is some funny Sh*T! I just called him & read several of the posts to him,he loved Icemans post.I've known Larry for a lot of years & lived in the same house with him.I can assure you,he's no saint!

He is however,a great guy & talented fitter and does rightfully deserve the props given to him.He has consistantly styled me out way past the point of reason, something a 6 pack could never cover. He is possibly the most over-educated ski bum I've ever met,& tireless in his pursuit of excellence;whether it be fitting boots or slamming car bombs.
