Non-Payment from a Maggot on Gear Swap--WWMD?

I've sold a bunch of stuff on gear swap and never had any problem whatsoever with maggots paying. I've treated maggots with the respect and trust they deserve (part of an unwritten rule here if you ask me) and have in turn received their trust and respect. Unfortunately--that streak has come to an end. I sold and shipped the item several weeks ago, and--after several pms letting said maggot know that I need the cashola, I have gotten no response.
I need the money, but more than that--I'm pissed that this would happen here. This maggot has 2000+ posts and as far as I know, is a legit guy. But that doesn't change the fact that I haven't received payment from the maggot, and more importantly--haven't even heard from him.

is the maggot still posting, but ignoring your PM's? If so, Its been several weeks and several attempts to collect, I think its time to expose the maggot.

PM a mag (if there is one) that you know knows the mag and tactfully see what's up.

Do you see him posting recently? If so, I'd call him out if he's not responding to email, etc. Otherwise, I'd see if anyone on here know's him or how to get in touch.

The Mag posted yesterday--so I know he's around. I don't know him, and don't really know other mags that do--but there's gotta be a bunch of mags that know him cause homeboy's got 2000+ posts. I'd like to do this as tactfully as possible--cause who really knows what's going on, but I've been giving him the benefit of the doubt for too long.

well, do you know where this maggot is from? if you do, pm another mag from the same zone and find out who his friends are.

Did you effect the transaction via PM? Just asking because somepeeps don't PM. Not that this makes it right. It's the buyers responsibility to contact you. Ditto Lemon on try to PM a couple of people who can guilt him into getting you the money.

It doesn't take Encyclopedia Brown to figure out who it is. I believe some members of the Tahoe Crue should be able to get in touch.

Waiting to hear from some mags that might know him. And yes--the transaction took place via PM. I'd like to give him today to see this post and get in touch. If that doesn't happen--it's time to out.

That's fucked. Whoever is guilty should end it painlessly and pay up. Grizzle is an upstanding maggot: he sent me a hefty chunk of change for a computer last month on the good faith I would send what I was advertising. A transaction like that should work here, if it doesn't, gear swap is dead.

I know I've sent gear before recieving payment, on good faith. We should be able to do that time to time. That's the great thing about gear swap.

Do you know that the item was delivered/received? Not a reason to not respond to you in any case, but theoretically he could have not received the item and not been getting PM's lately and forgot? Okay that's a stretch... but I once shipped something to someone's paypal address by accident instead of the address they wanted it shipped to. (D'oh!) It all worked out eventually, but there could be some explanation.

I'd suggest doing your best to deal with this privately. There could be all sorts of legit reasons for his behavior, so don't be too quick to judge.

But, everything has it's limit. Eventually some "negative feedback" might be important to everyone.

Wanted to throw in 2 cents....you guys are the experts on this board, but sounds like he needs to be outted....that shit shouldnt happen here.

Last fall I had three transactions here, 2 sells and a buy, and at one point I was shipping off my Gotamas to sell and my roommate says did you get the money yet, your not really shipping to some dude from the internet without getting paid first are you. My response was simply, no he is a mag and will send a check. I love that mags can be trusted to work the virtual handshake deal. Dont let someone make us doubt that.
