    11-7-05 stevens pass stoke

i had to go skiing today. so after class i went and toured up at stevens. the snow was perfect. about 40-50 inches of snowpack with the top 10 inches being blower stevens sugar on top of deep windpow. i hiked up to the steepest/longest/straightest run at the ski area and had wonderful untracked goodness all the way down. and of course it started dumping right when i got to the bottom. sorry for the 'no action pics', but when you roll solo....

    Yah Z!
Getting after that shit. I'm an out of shape pile of poop and yer hiking. Guess that whole snow thing motivates a little more than what we have out here....

Way to hit it. I just pray a pineapple doesn't take out the snow by the time I get back there. Be careful with that solo touring.

Nice pics. When does Stevens open? Looks like they have some pretty good coverage.

OK, I guess that fits the bill as the steepest/longest/straightest run at the area alright.

The website says only Skyline, Daisy and Hogsback will be running for the opener so sounds like the goods will remain hike-to for a while yet.

Hmmm....may have to take Wednesday off. Anyone else?

Edit: oooh just checked out the weather report - we've got a warming trend for tomorrow.

Shoulda gone to Baker today 8" at 26F on a 90" base.

Snow levels dropping for the weekend again. Oh look, I have to go back to Baker both days. Poor me.

    (Nice hike, Z)
