    4Frnt MSP Mounting Point?

I have the 2004-2005 model MSP's, and I've heard of mounting 3/4's of an inch behind the "Freeride" line for a more all mountain stance. Just lining up my midsole and binders on the ski, that still seems pretty far forward. I spend almost no time in the park, and as a general rule don't like forward/center mounts (i.e. how my PR's were). So has anyone mounted them about going 1 or 1.25 inches back of the "Freeride" line if you plan on using the skis strictly for all mountain purposes? Thanks.

MSP's and Legend Pro's, and you're 14 and live in the midwest? Wow.

I mounted my 180's on the Freeride line, they worked great, however they do "look" really far forward. Check with skier0178, I know he mounted his 187's .75" back.

I have last year's MSP in a 187 (the first incarnation of the ski). I mounted them 3/4 back from freeride and after discussions with the 4FRNT crew, that is now the freeride line on the new MSPs (05/06 model with the tree graphics). I don't ride park and it works for me. Hope that helps.

They're gettin mounted up in a few days at just over 7cm's back of the "Center" line and a hair over 3cm's(1.2 or 1.25 inches) back of the "Freeride" line. That leaves 83.5cm's from midsole to tail and 102.5cm's from midsole to tip. It still seems like a long tail, but I don't really wanna mount any further back since it's already a big ski for someone my size(5'8'' 140-145lbs). I can't wait to try 'em out, they feel like they're gonna be a super-fun ski, and far more versatile than the Blue Noodles they replaced.

The most common first impression of the MSPs is "damn they're stiff". Especially coming from the noodle, i bet this is going to be your reaction. Don't worry if it doesn't feel right initially, after learning how to ski the sticks you'll be very happy you got them.

Thanks for the info. I spend 7 out of 10 days on race stock slalom boards, so I'm used to stiff skis, the difference here will be stiff, long(er) skis. I'm still looking forward to being on a ski that will be more solid and stable at high speeds or in less than perfect snow. Plus, center-mounting is the most idiotic thing I've seen unless you spend 98% of your time hitting booters or in the park. have 90+ cm's of tail is a pain in the ass in tight terrain. Oh well, I'll be on the MSP's soon enough.

Just got them mounted up yesterday at 1.25 inches behind the "Freeride" line. It still looks like a really forward position, but we'll see, it should still be better than center mounted Blue Noodles.

Do people with these skis mounted on the "Freeride" line or 0.75'' behind it notice any problem in cruddy snow or deep snow with the tips diving or anything like that?

I am about your size (5'-8"/155#) and I am on the 180. I mounted at the Freeride line after talking with skier0178 and Matt at 4frnt. If I had the 187 I would go .75" back so I think your mount point should be fine. I do have to pay attention to the tips in pow (but I am a powder jong anyways), however in crud I was able to drive 'em through just about everything. Enjoy.
