But once you get to wherever, you can take the summit stage to whatever resort you want, as long as you are back to where they dropped you off by 4 pm sharp (they will leave your ass there if you are not on the bus at 4, from what I understand).

GET AN ELDORA PASS. There is a FREE bus that runs multiple times per day, and you can ski MANY half days there. Gotta bike down to the station, which is kinda a pain in the ass with gear on your back, but it's good exercise coming back up the hill.

On-campus parking? Where I live (Sewall) there is a very VERY small lot with meter parking directly in front of the dorm. Most of the kids have to park like 1/4 mile down the hill (maybe a little more). There is also a big lot directly in front of my dorm, on the other side, but I think that may be reserved for rec center staff, faculty, etc.

Parking is not stellar here, but there are definitely worse places for it.

All in all, CU is ok. I've been kinda disappointed with my entire experience (save the academic one) because I haven't met many real skiers, and I'm kinda getting tired of all the ignorance here (the HEY LET'S GET FUCKING STONED AND DRUNK 24/7 TEEHEE TEEHEE and the inability to have much intellectual conversation... but then again that may be any freshman dorm at a big public school).

I'm still pretty sure I made the right choice for a school. I was looking for A) a school with good academics (which CU has) B) somewhere I could ski A LOT (which CU has in the second semester... both semesters if you have a car) and C) a school with LOTS of hot girls (which CU has). The rest is trivial.

If you like to party and don't really care about getting a 3.8 or 3.9, you'll like the school more than I do...

Time to go write a paper.
I was a freshman last year and had to do the ski bus thing. It sucked first semester (I was one of those people said screw studying, let's go skiing), but was pretty good 2nd semester. Screwed me a couple times, shit like it being late on a snowy day and the like, but overall got me some good days. It wasn't crowded, either, so I always got to spread out and get some good sleep.

Finding a ride, though, is better if you find a compatible group. Make some friends with western slope people. I've found some really sick skiers from places like Rifle, Glenwood Springs, and Carbondale.

I lived in the engineering quad last year, so it was a much mellower dorm experience. Still, for better or worse, CU's a party school. You just gotta find like-minded people.

And, in response to a later post: DO NOT live in Bear Creek. Get a house somewhere with a garage, and set up a little workshop. I recommend South Boulder, near Moorhead/Apache/Baseline.

Hello. Haven't been around for a while and haven't skied in over two weeks.

Can I get a ride up with someone this week? (car is in the shop)

Well, let me know. If i can't find a ride here, I'll hit up Ski Carpool (even though that site bites my sack).

Edit: I could meet in Golden actually, I just realized I have a rental Ford fucking Taurus!

My sister lived up there, way secluded about 7 mile drive into town. That house may still be for rent actually....Retarded parties could be thrown up there....

Actually, I love living alone, and I would have never known it if I hadn't done it. If you can find a cheap enough place (kinda hard in Boulder) you (are we talking about Max here?) might want to consider it. I guess it's for some people and not for others, but I personally think it's nice.

OK, it's been a while since I've skied with maggots, so who wants to get after it this weekend? Maybe some BC lines? My bc partner is moving to Aspen so I'm SOL.

I know it's early in the week, but all these TRs have me thinking powder!

I need a ride up to Summit Co. to collect all my gear from Summit's place in Keystone. $10 for your kindness...

Will gladly go up early and take work with me to do in the car. Just need to get there. Any time is alright, but I need to be back Sat. afternoon for a formal dance that night.

And good luck, BZ. Tough luck about the car, man. Hope that gets taken care of soon.

Ya dude, that would be great. I can catch a ride to Denver on the way up, but if I could get a ride directly back to Boulder, that would be great. (I've got a ski bag that needs taking back to boulder, along with a good bit of gear).

Preciate the offer, man. Thanks. Call you on Friday for details.

post back to this thread when you get the first half figured out Max, I might be able to take you back to Boulder, depending on lots of factors. Have jeep, with rooftop box, and room for junk. Be warned, am notorious for not wanting to commit to location/timing until last possible minute, and like to call audibles a lot, but that said, if I'm near you at the right time, I'll be happy to bring you down.

EDIT: for that matter, up too, possibly, but again subject to my last minute decision making.
