    Ski advice needed...volkls or ?

5'9" 165 31yo with about 90% of my time spent in Quebec in-bounds though with lots of trees and bumps, sometimes get out west too for the softer stuff. I teach and patrol and get 40+ days annually so know my stuff, but lean more on the advanced than expert side (8-9?) for being a bit lazy or hungover most weekends.

Last four years my main sticks were Volkl Vertigo G3 167s, very nice for my needs: stiff for long fast carves plus the crud and ice of which we have lots, short for the bumps and trees, good sidecut for the short rads.

I'd like to stick with Volkl or something else wood core that can do it all half-decently, and am now in the market if anyone has advice - or something to sell. Had a few suggested: Volkl 5/6 Stars, AC3/4, AX4, or 724 Pro; K2 Recons; Fisher Big Stix or RX8s, Head Monsters; and Atomic Metrons (esp the B5).

Don't like buying without trying, but won't have a chance plus I trust good opinions. Anyone?

i say keep the vertigos for harpack/bumps and buy a longer fatter ski for powder. gotamas possibly if you want to stick with volkls. versatility is a good thing, and you can really only get that by having more than one pair of skis.
I keep a mirror in my pocket and i practice looking hard.

Consider the Karma for an all around Volkl stiff wood core ski. Or keep what you have and go fat.
