    Seth vicious length?

I am 5'11'' about 155-160 lbs. I am an aggressive skier (fast, in the air as much as possible, you know) who is wondering what size of SV's I should have for my powder boards. 179 seems to be a little less than what i am looking for but at the same time is 189 too much? curious.

If this is true, you need the 189s. Only you would know.

They also have a huge twin, and are somewhat soft, so even if its not totally true, you still need the 189s.

    yeah, go with the 189.

Twin is big, you should mount them forward some, and they are fairly soft, so the length isn't a problem.

I seem to recall something from the K2 boards to the effect that the 179 isn't for hucking if that's your thing. The 189 is a lot thicker and can take the landings from going big. Of course the guy who posted that goes by Sid. You think he'd know?

I'm 6' 2", 192 lbs, and skied the 179 a lot this spring and summer. I love it. It's very versatile: super steep chutes, small hucks, heli-powder, frozen crud, slush, bumps, groomers, and even raced a GS course on it. Superb ski. It'll be fine for you.

However, I am going to add the 189 SV to my quiver because:
I want even more stability at mach schnell
I want to huck bigger this year
    I'm insecure

Note that Morrison weighs about 150-160 and rocks the 189. However, he is Morrison and we are not.
But for everday skiiing, trees, and tight spots, the 179 will make you happy.

I remember that as well. The 189 is the only one designed to handle big landings. They had to reduce the core profiles on the shorter lengths in order to keep the stiffness consistant.

I went with the 189 for this reason. FWIW, I'm 1" taller and 15-20lb heavier than Vailcat, with similar skiing preferences.

    Vicious length

    Skip,
    Have you measured them?
give it a try you will find that 189s are maybe 183s at tops. both my 189 Madens and Vicious measuered slighty less than 183s and my 179 PE big surprise!! 173.

Not true. I've heard others say this as well but I just mesured my 189 SV. The overall length is 189 and the running length is 165.

Does anyone know if K2 used to measure their skis this way? I've heard several people say the same thing about K2 length measurements. Maybe on a certain line of skis in the past?

    Skip,
The fact that I actually was bored enough to measure the surface area of my skis on a summer night when the the girlfriend was visiting her parents is pretty damn pathetic!

My universe has already caved in from the blow of admitting this!

If you put a 189 Seth Pistol up next to a 193 Big Daddy, they are the same length.

So your saying that a 193 Big Daddy is only 189cm long?

no, the 189 SV is 193 long. K2 measures the skis funny. My 179 SP were the same length as my old 182 Lines. The 189 SV are a few cm longer than my 190 Igneous.

O, and I skied my 189 vicious for the first time today. I'm 5'10" and I wouldn't want them any shorter. They did fine in tight spots. I mounted at +4.

Big Ds are about 1 cm longer than pistols, i just measured em. Big Daddys however have significantly more contact with snow. Huge twin vs. slight upturn..

and oh yeah. just dropped em off at the shop. fuckin sex on snow.
    Drive slow, homie.
