Deli is Jewish food. Second Ave. Deli or Katz's on the lower east side

Be warned though, Second Ave. is a kosher deli so don't be trying to order any cheese on your sandwich. It is still wholly chronic though...

Look, I am convinced that there is no best all-around deli in NYC. It all depends on what you're looking for.

If you want pastrami, for example, nobody comes close to Katz's. But if you're longing for a corned-beef rueben, Katz's is probably your worst option. The corned beef at Katz's sucks ass.

    Now I want a reuben
I resolve PC issues remotely. Need to get rid of all that pr0n you downloaded on your work laptop? Or did you just get a ton of viruses from searching for "geriatic midget sex"? Either way I can fix them. PM Me for maggot prices.

Yeah but the one I got there was a mound of meat on a slice of bread and as big as half a fucking football. Picking it up was out of the question, besides it was open face. It was like a pound of meat on there.

    Katz's #1 without question.

Though Jerusalem on Broadway is pretty good if you don't have time to get to the Bowery. There's also a few tiny neighborhood gems around the city, but I aint giving those away.

What he said. I think we did just that one day a few years back, and I transported a few out to Hood River for Natty a few years before that (nothing like a transcontinental flightwith Katz's pastrami smell wafting down from the overhead bins--hungriest flight, ever).
2nd Ave. has good Kugel, if you're into Kasha and stuff like that it might be the place.
Carnegie is second in my book, but it's a distant second as I judge these places basically on pastrami alone--everything else can be done well at most places, but Katz's is probably the only one that still cures its own pastrami. Tip the counter guys a few bucks when you go.

edit: to ask Pinner about Jerusalem. The only Jerusalem I go to is Jerusalem Falafel on 104 and Broadway.
And Katz's is at the corner of Ludlow, not Bowery.

double edit to mention 'send a salami to your boy in the army'--see, it's supposed to rhyme, but I never thought it did.

triple edit to mention that I'm mad at everyone for making me too hungry right now, but I am headed downtown later, so...

Why, because they'll get tracked out?
