    Tyrolia brake question.

I've got a pair of a few year old Tyrolia binders and I'm trying to take the brakes off to do some bending to fit my Exploders... I can't figure it out, call me a jong, I don't care, but I definitely need some help. I've checked the Tyrolia site out and it looks like the brake mechanism is the same on the new bindings as it is on the ones I have, same for Fischer. Please, help.

BTW, I did see FNG's thread, which was nearly identical to mine, but it got no responses... I guess, I should've bumped it instead of creating my own, but whatever, I'm Brian Fellow, I do what I want.

Have you been drinking?? I've got some newer Fischers - it's easy to unscrew from the bindings you can't separate from the plastic part of the brake mechanism...the brake is locked into the plastic...no removing....

...is that what you are talking about?? I am not helping but that's ok right!?!

As a matter of fact, yes, I have been drinking, that's probably why I can't understand what it is that you wrote up above . I'll try again tomorrow.

Uh, ok. Corky = TV's Corky? Anyhow... The Fischer X17's and FR17's all have the same brake set-up. Pull the front two screws that go thru the brake and binding, pull the brake out horizontally, and you've got a set of brakes in your hands. The standard wide brakes fit 105mm without bending. So I ass ume Tyrolias are the same, since my Fischer bindings say Tyrolia all over them. You need a picture TR tomorrow? I can provide.

heh..whoops..sorry - just abit punchy - been work working all night...

I do have newer fischer/tyrolias (fx12's) - the brakes mechanism unscrews with 2 screws but the brakes are wrapped in plastic that can't be removed...is this what you have? I just bent mine apart a hair to fit im85s but it was tough - the brake metal was thick and tough to bend....

..I still haven't helped but I'd like to know how bending goes if these are the same brakes...

There are two medal studs, one of each side of the brake, stopping the brakes from sliding out horizontally. I tried pushing them in, but to no avail, pulling/bending the plastic a bit around them isn't working either, 'cause I don't want to overdo it and break the plastic. And, yea, I took the front two screws out...
