    FS: Arctic Isle jackets

Remember these? I've got two of these Hawaiian print coats, almost new. One is the full print and one is the print down the sleeve.

    No longer made!

    Here's the large:

    Here's the medium

$60 each or $100 for both. Plus shipping.

It's funny you say that. This has some history....

Back in the day, there was a contest to design the No Ka Oi. Powderwhore used a swatch image from the Arctic Isle website (the site that I made and maintained) to make his design submission. He won the contest and a pair of skis.

Notice how the No Ka Oi graphics are all stretched out? It's because they stretched a square image to a long rectangle (the ski shape). Would have been much cooler if they had simply repeated the image and not stretched it. They (AK Skis) seeem to like that stretched look so much all their graphics are stretched now (look at that stretchy salmon - yick.)

Anyway, the image on the No Ka Oi's is a swatch image from the Artic Isle website.

I would love to have one of the ArcticIsle jackets (what the hell happened to PO'B, anyway?) but I don't think an L would would be big enough. 2P, see if you can get Lumpy or Mr. AG to try it on for me and if it fits I'll buy it.

I swim in the large. If you plan to use it for spring days and not layer much underneath, I am thinking it would be fine for you Ice. The XL was a bit large on a friend of mine that is 6' 3" 220 that got one of these. He is bigger than Lumpy, Mr. AG or Woodsy.

I think it was that picture of Telenater wearing one that did them in!

The company was bought by Quicksilver, but Telenater sure didn't help.

Damn fine jackets, took my skiing to the next level.
I disclaim any culpability in the Arctic Isles fading from the scene. That picture is damn old.

Too bad mine wore out or I'd still be using it occasionally.
