I swear by the Valentine 1.

Arrows to show which direction the signal comes from.
Numbers to tell how many being detected.
Different lights and sounds for different signals.

I bought it two years ago for a Thanksgiving Utah trip. Truckee to Park City in 6.5 hrs (95mph average)....even got pulled over, but I had heard the signal and slowed to 81 (on the salt flats), so only a warning.....sucka.

Once you get used to the directional detection feature on a Valentine, there is just no going back to anything else.

6.5 hours for a trip nearly 580 miles. Thats amazing. I consider 10 hours good time from Sacramento. I use a piece of crap Cobra that tells me all about the radar as I pass it by. I'm going to look at these Valentine RDs.

I`m not sure about the Valentine but all my friends and myself use the Passport 8500X50.Read the reviews on the head to head comparisons. The passport tested as being more sensitive. The product works great.I turned off the K and X bands sinse SoCal is not using those.CHP`s are using the Ka band and some city cops are on Lazer. After driving with it for awhile you will figure out which bands give you false readings and can turn them off on the Passport.I`m sure either brand would be fine.
You say that one more time and I`m going to go off!!!

Valentine 1. It has saved me from many a ticket on the LA -> Mammoth commute. Except for that one time, outside of Mojave... cop crested a hill just as I was, radar went off full blast due to new line of sight, but it was too late . But yeah, all the other times... good stuff.

Funny that you posted this.I have had the exact same situation going over the last crest towards Lone Pine.Scared the hell out of me. The chippie just smiled and kept on going, must have been close to break time for him! Clocked out at 91 MPH by the air patrol on the way to Lake Havasu though.Guess I have to look through the sunroof more often to catch those sneaky bastards.

My buddy had just bought a used S4 two weeks prior.....which is why I agreed to contribute the Valentine. We spent the night before we left installing the Yak box....and wed night we were off. It was exciting!

More and more (around here, at least) Laser is the MO of the highway gendarmes. Laser Jammers are getting pretty good, but they'll cost ya.

The V1 has long been the poster child of performance-oriented drivers, but it is continually outperformed in tests like the one Blurred posted.

I have a Bel Vector 940 which is fast and accurate, but with no jamming capability it's just a "you're about to get pulled over" warning device on highways around here.
    It's idomatic, beatch.

Do a search around http://forums.officer.com/forums/ to see what cops have to say about Radar/Laser detectors.

Valentine One.....hands down the best detector I've ever used. One of the best features is that it's completely upgradable so if they come out with a new version all you have to do is ship it to them, pay a small upgrade fee, then they'll ship you an updated version. The V1 has saved my from many a ticket and paid for itself 10x over.

Nice bump, You will be swapping gear in no time.
I run Valentine 1's in the Maser and Bushboys M3, and a passport 9500ci with jammers fore and aft in the Turbo S. I like the passport better.

Seriously. Can a mod disable the hyperlink in the post? Don’t know where it goes but won’t click it.

I usually hit reply with quotes, so I can read the URL they posted if I'm worried about a disastrous click.

I thought AI speaks better English than that.
