I wasn't there, went for a little hike near east vail instead. But I strongly recommend that you go. It's even snowing...
Good enough for me.
It was delicious. Their opening up richards. Avoid the fucking ski patrol though.
Come to A-basin, I'd like to meet you tomorrow. Seriously. It'll be fun.Originally Posted by Lloyd Christmas

first post, jong away.
I headed up from Abq last night and spent the day at loveland. Hardly a line at all, not too crowded, snow was great in the morning, a little scraped later in the day. I left around 3.
Headed up over the pass and passed A-Basin on my way to Silverthorn and *holy sh!t* the lift line looks long. Had to be over 100 people waiting in line.
Couple snowboarders I gave a ride up the pass said they heard ppl were waiting 30-40 minutes for the lift at a-basin. I'll prolly hit basin early tomorrow morn and start trekking back to Abq early afternoon.

Sounds like you got in trouble. Hehe. I've been very, very good and I might not poach at Loveland at all this year. I'm just tired of pissing off Pip. Some advice for you - if you're gonna poach, and I'm not saying you should, but if you are, DO NOT do it on the weekends when all the nationals are around with eyes in the back of their heads. Weekdays when it's storming with low vis are really your only chance.Originally Posted by adam
My mantra deal fell through. Shite. Now I'm looking for skis again. Anyone know a deal on some 177s, PLEASE let me know.

Loveland was nice today... decent snow (3" overnight), crowds weren't bad, and it was snowing the whole time we were there. Not a bad way to start the season.
Yeah, I got a bunch of crap on Saturday. I let some kid snip my day pass, and some how it got traced back to me.Originally Posted by SheRa
Snow was great in the morning. I was stoked to reach the parking lot and see it snowing quite hard. We did 12 laps or so and left, but the crowds were nothing compared to what I heard was over at the Basin.Originally Posted by adam
Can anyone tell me what's up with a fair amount of patrollers at Loveland that can barely ski??
Adam, what sticks were you on?? I'd have looked for you if I knew you were there. I was on 189 Vicious.
I've got more suits than Liberace, but less than Eastvailhucker.
I was on some Dynastar 10's (some crappy ones that i got for cheap). Have not mounted my gotamas yet. I definitely agree with you about all the pathetic trollers at loveland. I don't know how the got on.
Very good day today. Got there close to opening and spun about a dozen laps. When it started getting icy and crowded, I decided to stop by the shop there and get a quick tune before heading home. While waiting for my board, it started to dump. As soon as the board was done I jumped back on the lift and spun a few more laps in fresh snow on a freshly tuned board.

Today was really good. I had lots o' fun. Its really fun knowing almost every lfitee, food court personel and maintence crew. Man, the little cabin top of one smelled rather potent when I went in there.
I hear ya, apparently I was skiing too fast and caught the attention of a troller. My buddy saw the guy try and catch up to us but couldn't and ate shitOriginally Posted by Vicious
*Edit- no disrespect to Loveland patrollers on this board.
ALL the disrespect in the world to pip.Originally Posted by SLSki

: Really, do go fuck yourself.
I wish I had been at Loveland.
The snow was pretty good at the Basin, and I had a lot of fun (and dialed some funboxes that were pretty scary at the start of the day [/stoke]), but the lines SUCKED.
Keystone opens next weekend. I don't think anyone has any idea how stoked I am about that (read: minimally to moderately).

According to summit, who LOVES the place (and lives there). Then again, from the ultimate sick radness today his mind could have been blown and he could have misjudged the date.
The 11th was what I had always thought, too. But it's possible this little storm sped things up a bit...?![]()

yeah I don't really know for sure, I live and work there as well, but as far as I know the "word" from the man is the 11th, the 4th has been discussed but no call has been made, and the rumor around the mountain is that it doesn't look good. I just don't want 1000 angry denvoids showig up at my lifts on friday expecting to ski.

I'll be skiing next weekend. To be perfectly honest, I'd rather spend a day at your mountain with a high speed quad so I don't have to wait in line for 25 minutes so I can ski for 5.
But if it's not open, I guess that will not be happening... Which is cool. Don't want to inspire false pretenses. My beezy...

Loveland definitely rocked today- especially considering the lines I've heard about at A-Basin. If it kept up the dumpage all day from when we left, they could get some decent snow. I'd like to see them start opening up some more terrain soon.
As for Keystone, I don't think I'll touch that place until they get good snow for a while... I went last year when they had one or two runs open and I've never been on a run that crowded before.
