    Thumbs up New Thrashers!!

After pacing all day in front of the door, I'd just given up hope. The UPS man never comes to our office after 3pm. Skis were supposed to arrive today, but it looked like I might have to wait for tomorrow. I heard the door creak open at about 3:30, and I heard what could only be the setting down of a heavy package, like a box of skis. My apologies to the UPS man if I nearly mowed him over in the process of retreiving and opening the box.

New Capital Thrashers (188cm, 147-121-134, medium flex)!!

Time for the snow to start piling up.

Those look to good to mount. They could hang from the wall as art...when not ripping up the pow.

Will be mounted tele. Just gotta find a template to freehand, since the jig isn't wide enough.

What a surprise. What binding? Hopefully Bulldogs with custom extra-wide breaks. If you're not running the dawgs, you can find PDFs of most templates on the manufactures website.

    Waaa! I can't see them!
    (Stupid Internet.)

I'm picking mine up tomorrow. So I guess I'll be able to see them and touch them and everything all I want. Very exciting.

Graham, have you decided on a fore/aft position for your binding mount? I'm a little perplexed about what to do because of the Swallowtail and would be grateful to hear your thoughts. Greg said not to mount them more than 5mm behind the toe line he's marked on the topsheet. Hmmm...

    Come on snow!

Greydon... probably putting G3's on there. It's been my go-to powder binding for a while (I've got Linkens, Cobras and 02s on different skis for different uses). Can't quite commit to mounting those pins only.

Rippah... Check your thread on Ttips, but I'd say don't mount back. Greg's mark looks good.

Xover... Utah plan is in the works this winter, and those skis will be with me.

    Here's my new chargers:

In the future all Thrashers will have Linkens on them. (Well, mine will anyways).

The newest family member gets aquainted. The others laugh and make fun of Thrashers girth.

    A happy rippah, sigh.

I was a little nervous about the weight, since they don't have the super-light carbon construction going for them that DB had--though Capital has a distinct advantage in actually shipping in about 5 weeks. Anyway, just weighed them here in the office, and they're a surprising 10 lbs (4.5 kg) per pair. Not light, but not bad. That's only a half pound per ski more than my Karhu Jak Teams (Line Prophet 100), which is 2cm skinnier underfoot.

Tippster... no plans for mid-Atlantic, but I will be watching for storms when I head back East this winter. If conditions are right, there are a few places I'd love to take them in NE/Quebec.

wow, those are sexy 'mo fo's...damn! 3pin, did you get a chance to test these during C's Ski Review last year? I have the new issue at home, but don't remember seeing these bad boys in the ski test? Inquiring minds want to know how they ski before the CC comes out....
