    Backcountry ski second thoughts

I picked up a pair of RD Helidogs from El Chup with the intention of using them as my BC skis w/Freerides, but now I'm not so sure. These things are pretty straight, and I don't want to waste mounting them and cutting skins for them only to find out that I don't like them. Anyone ski these back in the day and have an opinion on them?

    Mount em
    Ski em
    Cut Skins for em

in that order. That way you'll know. What are the dimensions?

I'll know in a month or so. I picked up a pair last year that I have yet to ski. Not the lightest things in the world.

Couldn't find a metric measuring tool around the house, comparing them to my ANT's, looks like they're somewhere around 112-91-104. I suppose I could just mount them and bust out the snowshoes for the first trip up the backside of Alpine.

Not superlight, but not very heavy either, especially for the nice flex they have.

Just read somewhere that they have the same shape as the first gen. Explosives...not sure if that's true.

The quoted size on them was 119-91-103, but I never measured them to compare whether that was the actual size.
