    Is this for real?

    Storm Surfing

It's fake n'est pas? The wave in the 1st frames looks a ripple compared to what the dude's riding.

Mavericks cut into other footage. Could put a skier in front of an avy for fun.

    My nickel

Real footie, I'm guessing. Check out the waves as soon as they cut out to sea. Then watch the debris in the background at the end. It'd be a damn talented splicing job if that was fake. If its real, that guy is either a god or a fucking madman (both?).

    fake.
theyve used parts of it here for a powerade comercial. i guess that is why it looks so good. the footage is real but the surfer is not. if you have seen more big wave footage you know he cannot make it out when the thing comes down (assuming his first part of the ride would have been real)
It's a war of the mind and we're armed to the teeth.

Too crazy to be real after all...

That is great editing. The waves seemed too real to be fake. But editing in the surfer was pretty good stuff, especially as he is hopping across some mean chop.

    Pretty cool anyway.

Yeah, it's edited. This was from a Powerade commercial awhile back. Here's a Lebron James one. And another one from Michael Vick. Pretty damn cool commercials.

Edit: Just found another cool one, closer to the surfing vid but less convincing. Runner.

That's you on the Cribbar Reef last winter Hayduke. No, wait... you're still riding the slop in front of the life guards hut..it can't be you.

Fake. Good fake, but fake non the less.

It's obviously fake because to ride something that big you'd need a PWC, adn that thing would have been ruined by something like that. Also, like said, a wave crashing on him like that? Ill give you my lifes savings if you could ride through that.

Totally fake. I think it was used as a commercial for Powerade or something.

Also, the sky changes color and hue after the camera zooms in.

Plus, the angle of the wave also changes after zooming in as well.

....I'm not a surfer.... but.... I did look at that for a while. If you notice.... the water before and after the wave breaks..... The surface of it is completely different in the bottom of the frame. (Where the wave breaking should have had no effect on the surface.) I gotta give the crew that edited that props though, becuase the way he rides that chop (is that the surfer lingo?) is very natural looking.
    No.
