Okay- I just got back from the doctor's. Good news for the time being. According to the PET scan, the spot on my lung isn't melanoma. Granted, the surgeon says that the PET scana aren't always a good indicator, but for now my lung will be intact. After consulting a pulmonologist, they have put me on some antibiotics in hopes that the spot is just an infection and will go away. I'll be getting another CAT scan next month, and based on those results we'll determine what the next step is. Hopefully, it's nothing.

Hopefully he also told you that melanomas usually light up pretty goddamn bright on PETs, which should make your normal PET even more reassuring.
