I stay outta that food court; the chinese guys own the pizza place and the greek guys have a mexican restaurant??? What's up with that?

You're much safer at Subway or Roberts...

Also, I would not put it past the old Nordic Valley, now Wolf Mountain, to sneak in out front this year, if Ogden Valley temps allow...

I'm rather disappointed that the low temps in LCC (Collins Study Plot, 9662 MSL) have been hovering around the upper 30's, low 40's.

Anyway, if any of the Ogden Valley resorts do in fact open first, then my bet would be on Snowbasin...due to the extraordinary snowmaking capabilty.

Yea, but they have no desire to open before Thanksgiving, and besides they've never run Middle Bowl without a way down to the bottom, so they have to make waay more snow than most places to open.

Yeah. RB might be onto something. What better way to get yourself some major attention as a new ski area? If they opened first it would be a real media coup. I hope they can do it, but their elevation's horrible for that prospect.

If I remember correctly Nordic Valley has THE lowest base elevation, not just in Utah, but of all the Rocky Mountain States (Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana). Staying cold enough, long enough to beat out Brighton will be a tall order for them.

We'll cross our fingers for them.

Yep. It's low. I looked it up. Whoa. It's the same base elevation as the mile-high city of Denver. What does that mean? Well, that's 4,000 feet lower than Alta's Albion parking lot, and more than 3,000 feet lower than Brighton's. And it only has about 1000 vert. That's gonna make it a challenge to open before the Cottonwoods, but they should go for it just to kick-off the new place with a lot of publicity!

NOAA says that there is a good chance of snow in the Wasatch this weekend. Let's start getting that base together.

Thank you. I was starting to really question if I should ever ski again after seeing that picture. Luckily for me, I enrolled in Gordy's camp a few months later.

Particle, no, they don't lend to gaping like the photo represents. As a matter of fact, they don't like you getting in the back seat at all. Stay centered and keep smiling.

What the hell was I doing on Spat on Nov 5???? Must have been a good year.

Might this be the year that CO gets more snow than UT?
