Are you talking about the M103 (retail or first-year team issue?) or SuperMojo. There's a few variations of the ski around.
Also; what do you want the ski to do for you? I've skied M103s, both team versions and retail versions with a good few different mounts from like 3 or so cm ahead of the line to +2 behind. All kinda works for various purposes. Obviously going far behind the line does not make a M103 easier to turn (which might be the exact point in such a mount) but very very speedy and way floatier than normal; on the other hand you can easily go 2cm forward if you're after a billygoating technical-shizz ski (of just find another ski...). This is given taht you're into the 193cm model, I haven't been playing around with the 183cm much.
self unemployed?
My im103 in 183cm is right on the mark.
No complaints what so ever.
Floats in pow, but turns relatively easy when billygoating...well,for being that ski.
The floggings will continue until morale improves.
the ski is last seasons Monster 103 pro in a 183 cm....I'm a right coaster: billy goating > floating/straightlining pow
thankx
On a 183 I wouldn't go too far forward either; but as stated earlier I haven't skied them that much. Between on line and 1cm forward I would think. Try to pm 'mulletizer' here on tgr, he spent a lot of time on 183 and seems extremely happy with them, he mighyt have input on mounts (though I'd guess he might have more of a bigmountain tweak to his mount after a few seasons in La Grave).

I played for a few hours on a 183 Supermojo with demo binders last spring and liked +2cm the best. Pros of going forward were it was much easier to turn and especially pivot with cons being a tail that pushed you forward and short feeling tips, although this was offset by the stability/dampness of the ski. Mounted on the line I just couldn’t get the ski to engage in a turn very well and was constantly fighting to get forward. The rep said this was common and referred to it as the “m103 row the boat” phenomenon, he recommends everybody go +1.5 - 2cm. Note: my experience was limited to corn, ice, bumps, and groomers, not sure how well +2 would fare in pow.
I roll the 193's and wouldn't go forward and w/ the mount unless you're an ex-submariner- dive, dive, dive. That being said, you'd better be training partners with the Herminator if you were to mount back of center- I'd imagine that shovel'd be a lotta beef to drive.
Just got some 06/07 Head "Mojo 103s". They appear to be the same as this season's M103s. Mine are 183cm.
Just curious about any other opinions on mounting points. True center of the ski is 90 cm from the tail. The mark is at 76cm from tail. I ski on the east coast. 1 or 2cm forward? I figure I'll remount further back next season when I head out west.
The topsheet is the same as the 105s on the left in this picture:

You got 06/07 Mojo103s?? I didn't realize this was an option. You sure they aren't the new Mojo 105s? Maybe I'm missing something...Originally Posted by SkiJunky05
I've skied the new 105 and it's nowhere near as burly as the predecessor M103 or Supermojo. The pair I skied were on the line and actually felt quite forward, but the tips still seemed to surf quite well although deeper snow was nowhere to be found.
I've got more suits than Liberace, but less than Eastvailhucker.
Meathead Films, we love Head!
Quite sure they aren't the 105s. Some friends are currently waiting to recieve their 105s. Mine are in view. Sandwich, no twin, lookin' like a looong radius.
I read your reviews after the Copper demo and appreciated how comprehensive your information was. Thanks.

bumping this thread because I'm about to mount my pair.
I'm thinking 1-2 cm forward......
183 mojo103 on the freaking line. they are sweet
which one did you end up with blurred? 193 im103, supermojo, or mojo103?
could definitely see going a cm forward on that ski.
B, you'll be fine going 1 - 2 forward on the 193. I skied the 183 at the line, 1, and 2 forward and preferred a bit foward, but on the smaller size it sacrificed float. However, the 193 leaves so much shovel from the line, I think +1 is your $$$$ spot.
That said, I f'ing miss mine.

pechelman- I ended up getting the 193 M103s from soul_skier. I read somewhere that they were a bit stiffer than the supermojo, and that was enough to make me buy them.
Vicious-thanks bro. I think that's how I'll mount them.......Damn I'm excited.
bump coz i'm getting the some 191 105s from hemas soon....suggested mounting point for 105s? i'm about 210lbs buck nekkid, want them dialed in for big fast pow turns. and yes, i suck at pow skiing. this will be my first pow ski.
advice?
Ripzalot, You want advice? Do not follow the advice from this thread about M103s when mounting your 105s. You are likely to be very sorry since those two skis couldnt be more different unless one of them didnt say "Head" on it.
"I dont hike.... my legs are too heavy"
On the line. I have 181's and they are pretty floaty and definitely turnable. I would not suggest going forward unless you want to really turn on a dime...as I'm sure you'd lose a lot of float.
Also reiterate professor...the 105's are completely different from the 103's. 105 - soft playful pow ski. 103 - stiff straight, no twin, charging
Orange eagle 193 m103's - right on the line. I suppose mounting them forward would make them easier to turn when you're not going 50+mph, but if you're looking for a non-high-speed immovable object you should really be on a different ski.
