Great the next oldest guy to me in our little crew has just turned 30. This year I literally will be trying to keep up with people barely more than half my age.

Don't you drag me into this. But yeah, old guys can kill it to, or at least die trying.

    Ty- fucking RULE it!

And lph, I sort of have a thing for older guys. They aren't as freaked out by my nasty toenails.

So nothing yet on any other NA tour stops? (Note: I didn't actually look at the website because dial-up is ghetto and that is the best that I can do right now, so I am just relying on this thread for my info.)

Brett Deuter (DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDER)- super extremo dude from Sun Valley who is pretty much infamous for picking lines in comps that most people don't even regard as part of the venue. He is also like 38 now, has broken his back atleast once and is purely insane. His line selection at Crystal was basically dangling off of a ledge, ollying into a VERY small patch of snow surrounded by trees and then airing off of that into yet another tree bench. First time he blew up, but somehow made it into the finals and went back for redemption. Stuck everything till he caught an edge in the runout, ripped the toe piece off of his binding and skied the rest of his line on one ski. Super cool guy, but pretty much on his ninth life by now.

oh shit! yeah I think you told me about that line in Lenas. Yup, saw him compete at KW a few times and he's always picking super burly raw lines.

Thanks for the update TS. The guys who run IFSA are too busy getting married in Argentina to update their website in a timely fashion. Looks like it would be a fun 2 weeks in Europe for those consecutive events. Anyone going? My goal is to go and ski 'em both. I got on the world tour at KWood, now I just need some help getting around and paying some fees to do the Europe comps. Can anyone help me?

Do you think I'd be competitive with a Spatula/916/Trekker setup?

There need to be a "combined" event where one day you race rando rally, then the next few days is big mountain competition. Then you'd tally up the overall scores/times for an overall ruler of the mountain. And you'd have to do each race on the same equipment too

From the genius who came up with park mountaineering (that was the gist of your letter to Powder right?), comes rando big mountain rallies. I love it Ty. Talk about separating the boys from the men.

whats the word with comps north of the border? those assholes at W/B need to sack up and host comps again. Im assuming Red/Fernie/Sunshine are still in the works.

Last year, Red, Fernie and Lake Louise weren't on the national tour. And the Whister comp was done by MSI who puts on Snowbird, Les Arcs and Kirkwood. The rumor was that they didn't get the money to throw it together last year and won't again this year.

I am of the opinion that there should be more grassroots freeskiing comps.

I too am now 30 (and on a new knee), and dont really know about signing up for one of the big ones (unlike TS aparently). I would love to get some friendly competition picking off lines though (kinda like what we all do everyday, but judged ).

Like a Thursday night mtn bike series.....show up pay your $20 and ski. I know CO had the Berthoud Badass series for awhile.....why cant someone out here have that.

Edit----PS did you pass the bar Girlski?

there was no whistler comp last year. W/B wasn't happy with the way MSI managed the 04 comp. there was a petition around town trying to get W/B to reconsider this season. it sucks because there are lots of ripping W/B locals who don't have the $ to travel.
