    Thumbs up Chile, Summer 04

I am going. Don't know where or when. But I am going. Hopefully for the last half of June and all of July. Hopefully to big steep mountains. Hopefully with beautiful South American women in towns of 10:1 female:male ratio. Who else is going down there this coming summer?http://www.tetongravity.com/usergall...l_cblanhua.jpg

Still in Chile. Just got back from camping in these mountains:

Absolutely stunning mountains. No skiing, but still some great times hiking, also saw a huge avalanche and some crazy mountain climbers (the "Towers of Paine" rise about 2000 vertical feet from their base, taking vertical to the literal definition of the word).

If you do come to SA next year, I'd actually reccomend LL as a base for a shorter period of time (easier access, more gringos, hotter women), but if you bring BC experience and some patience for scouting middle Chile has some of the sickest virgen lines I've ever seen (just ask LeDude)

    I'll definitely be back...

i think you have access to more resorts if ya stick to the north.

you got valle nevado el colorado and la parva witch are as big as 3 whistler blackomb, you have Portillo that 2 hours away, Chapa Verde and other unknown resorts just to the south of santiago will give ya sick touring. and well you can cross the boarder to los Penitentes, wich is south americas best kept secret and make your way down to Las Lenas and finish the trip in a super hero mode styleee.

edit : if ya know you are goin to be there. its season's pass buying season now...

Damn it. Wish I had mentioned something to ya Gorillo. Saw the TR and it looked like a great tiem (although not much skiing). Did you have a car to get down South (before the boat)? Cause lugging my skis/boots/brain bucket/shovel/probe/beacon on public busses through all of Southern Chile was something I wasn't stoked to do this trip. NEXT YEAR

PS: If you want to get drinks in Viña/Valpo this week my cellie is 91355197 (but I'm out of here Friday)
