uhh, 31" base was like the chronic in parts of the PNW in JANUARY last year and they still tried to stay open...
lets hope for saturday.....
me thinks the 31" is still being reported from the end of last season as the report date found here is May 30
I just drove by there 10 minutes ago. Foggy, lightly snowing, and the ribbon looks like it has plenty of coverage. They weren't blowing though. (on the lower mtn at least)
When we got all that snow a while back, they lost their power going to the mtn.
I'm guessing that with a new rental shop to open, the power prob, and not being the first to open (free marketing) they're in no hurry at all.
i
shitty. Loveland again this weekend?
If it makes you feel any better.....Calder and his wife that loves Phish went to Seattle.Originally Posted by Z

We need to plan a day when spence is there and bring the junkshow out with a ton of beer. that would be so fun.
Patrol director email today says they lost power for 48 hours and couldn't blow snow. said one more big night of snowmaking should do it. Who knows.![]()
Just drove by... lights on but nobody's blowing...

Z, I will surely go to Loveland if I can get a ride, mang. phish was unsure as of this afternoon. Saturday or sunday mid day is good for me. I would love to make some turns even if they are shitty and only last half a day (though a full day sat would be preferable.) call me 985 707 4101 or PM. Holla.
Edit: Number is posted, as this goes for all you other boulderites. Willing to throw in a few bucks for the horrendous cost of driving there.katrina.

I'm hoping to talk the BrettMeister into skiing for a couple of hours this weekend. Doug and I have a plan for a little wind-loaded backcountry line that should be fun. Close to Loveland. Z, I think you've done this one with us...
Skiing the groomer has been really fun, but it's time for some untracked snow. It's been trickling pretty steadily.
I could probably be talked into a few hour excursion into the bc this weekend. I might climb down in the frontrange(I know) but if not my only obligation is a meeting at 6 on sat night. Whats the plan?
edit: just got an email at work, no go on sat. either![]()

"Is it necessary to disdain the affluent Escalade driver in the ski area parking lot just because he never threw caution to the wind and gave up work, meat, and let his hair grow in the surreal international sojourn of powder skiing and self-actualiztion?"
WELL OF COURSE, thats why I am me and you aren't
Yeah...I think I know what you're talking about...I don't think im down for a big hike for these conditions though..I blame beer.Originally Posted by SheRa

Not going to open Sat. either. They shouldn't even try to compete with Loveland. Just gets all of our hopes up, only to be crushed by the weight of reality! Bunch of slackers!

Doood, it's a road hit. Quit being lazy!Originally Posted by Z
Looks like I might do a run with iskibc and Kya tomorrow - that will be a big hike.
How bony is it? And what is the avy risk? Higher or lower since the pack has presumably shrunk?
