10500ft freezing level? temperatures in the 50s?

Ullr, get your ass back over here and make us some freezing titties. Seriously, tomorrow I want to walk outside of my house and hear my nuts tinkle over the frosty ground. I want to see every woman within a 200 mile radius' nipples on full blast. Perhaps I am bitching early but after last year I am highly impatient to see some white stuff falling from the heavens.

Whoa there, cowboy, it's early yet. I'm annoyed, too, but October freshiez are a rarity.

Last year I skied good pow in mid October, and the winter sucks. This year I'm not skiing good pow in mid October, so the winter will not suck.

The way things seem to work out for me is that it snows when I leave. Happened 2 years ago both in the PNW and in France (snowed in PNW when I left, snowed in France when I came back home). Last winter I stayed in town and it never snowed. This summer it snowed so goddamn much in Chile, right after I skied on shitty snow in Portillo and wasn't going to have a chance to go back. I'm off to Thailand in 3 weeks, and you can expect it to start dumping as soon as I get on that plane. You'll see.

I feel the same frigging way. Looked at the NOAA site this morning and saw the freezing level. Patience is due, but we're all on nerve's edge. The pacific jet stream is an incorherent mess right now. http://www.weatherimages.org/data/imag213.html

Let's take a poll -- who in this thread are born and raised in Washington? Just curious.

Lets see, I think that poll will go something like this. It's October, and

    A. You're worried about lack of snow; or
    B. You don't have a worry in the world

Speaking of worries, I am sick as the dog of proverbial-type fame, will miss at least eight days of client work, and just had to call my friends in Jackson to tell them I can't fly out there for the weekend as planned. I was getting a wee bit blue about all of the above when the UPS guy arrived at my door and (no this does not become NSFW) delivered a little care package from Girlski, who sent me an emergency loan of four movies--including Echo, which she just got but loaned me anyway, which I think qualifies her for hero status--and some chicken soup (which I presume I don't have to return). Made my day. Then a few minutes ago I looked out the living room window and the neighborhood elk had stopped by to cheer me up. Made my evening.

By the way, I choose B in the poll.

I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones.

Slightly off topic, but how exactly do one's nuts tinkle? Do you need the blue powder for that?
    Days on snow 06-07: 3

At this time last year I was skiing from Camp Muir to the Paradise parkinglot with plenty of cover. Then the snow stopped. Better no snow now and plenty November forward. -kb

Any chance you can leave early?

I know I'm kinda new to the board, but not to Washington, born, raised and skied here all of my life. Its a 50/50 chance if were skiing at Thanksgiving.

See? Now that's a reasonable Washingtonian speaking. The rest of you are kooks, or tourists. Or both. Regardless, if you want to ski so fucking bad, so climb a glacier. It'd probably be good for you, and they aren't exactly that hard to get too, so get after it. Otherwise, just wait until Thanksgiving when it's actually time for winter to start.

You are most definately welcome. Considering what life has been dealing out for you lately, some ski porn and chicken soup were just what you needed. Now if only we could find a solution for that silly male chromosome problem that the two of us have had to deal with in the last 24 hours. I would eat vats of chicken soup if that would do the trick.

It needs to fucking snow, but not now. I don't have the time or the money right now...but Thanksgiving would be really nice.

I'm all for the nipples. Who cares about snow. Time enough for that. More nipples. Yeah, that's it.
The older I get, the better I was.
