I can't wait until this place is like a ghost town. It will be fun then.

And damn Cantdog that is some G-N-A-R. They have a cyclocross series in the winter here in the park next to my house. I'm strangely curious and tempted...

Sadly, I've started to realize that my dh season is nearly over. No riding this weekend and who knows after that. Hopefully I'll be able to get in a few more days. Plus, after about 15 inches of rain in the last week, it's going to take until the end of the season to dry out (assuming no more rain). Last Sunday was the first time in a while that I really wanted to go ski.

Here's to next year, I guess.

It is definately harder to go out, stays dark so late in the morning. I just got in from a 3 hour ride in the rain, and now have frostbite.

The season is officially over December 12th for me.

I'll be here aaaalll winter. I'm pretty much giving up skiing this season. Can't muster the stoke to deal with Colorado/Front Range BS after living the dream in the LCC vicinity. I'm finishing the pump track in my backyard towmorrow, building a sick freeride park on my buddy's land up in Evergreen(warm, sunny SW exposure), hit Lake Arbor, ride Dakota Ridge, go to Virgin, Bootleg, Moab....and wait until I can ride lifts with shorts on.
Oh yah, and watch hella mtb videos...Earthed 2, sequel to Synopsis, NWD 6, Roam....

Give a yell when you head to any of those spots. CS has been talkin' about a Virgin trip since the ZFF. I'm definitely down to keep the bikin' legs fresh through the ski season.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Mountain biking… keeps ski fiending at bay. Riding Tahoe this weekend, riding Tahoe next weekend, Bay Area riding the weekend after that, then two weeks in Patagonia (no biking) and, finally, Pacific Northwest “powder”! But I’m a MTB JONG (and riding a hard tail cross-country bike) hence my limited posting.

I'm still here as well . . . and will even admit that I don't mind that winter's not here yet because the biking has been so good lately. Although it is crazy that we were skiing powder this time last year!

I've got to tell you though, fall in the Sierras was made to ride a mountain bike! I checked out a place called Grouse Ridge (near Donner) on Friday and have to say I'd be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful place. There are lakes everywhere, amazing colors on the trees, very interesting terrain (read: technical, puts Chimney Rock climbing and D-ville baby heads in perspective), and since I was racing the sunset, the colors in the sky and silhouettes of the trees/mountains was incredible as well! Best of all: it wasn't too hot! Definitely a playground to explore though - the trails go on forever and it's all National Forest. From what I saw, there is a good bit of fast, fun riding, but it's at the "cost" of a lot of hike-a-bike and super technical (baby heads, granite obstacles) descending. It's a place you could kill a solid day and expend a ton of energy for a pretty damn cool adventure. I recommend you have a good map though, as many of the publications I've seen don't adequately represent the trail system (but I'm sure a good topo would!).

The only bummer about this time of year is that the days are shorter - makes post-work road rides a bit harder to accomodate. But the crisp air is worth it

I'm still riding as well. I love it...although I have been really anxious to ski lately. Just mounted up the new skis and freerides, so I got all stoked about it.

Had a good ride the other day despite 3 flats by the end of the ride

Amen. Also, Kellie, glad that we were able to hook up for a final ride! Good luck in AK.

Biking is kicking ass as always (of course that's always easy to say right after getting home from Moab). Oh, and there was actually a Telephil sighting on a mountain bike, hard to believe, but true.

The bullit is revolting and is in need of a major overhaul. My rear derailler cable busted about a mile into UPS so I got to do the rest of the ride on two gears. Actually wasn't that bad and only had to walk a few times. But hot damn do I love that ride. Sooooo much fun. And I was friggin stoked that I cleaned that gnarly chute/rock garden to right hand of death on LPS. Now, time to give some SRAM love to the bullit.

Again I say, riding bikes is fun.

Yes indeed, I was on a mountain bike and I forget how much fun that is, now I just have to decide what I'm going to get next spring. Santa Cruz Nomad or Yeti 575, depends on $$$ I guess.

Super fun weekend, CS definitely had me pushing myself, and aside fro a million flat tires, porcupine was awesome.

Yeah, I'm not missing skiing just yet. Moab was a blast this weekend. We rode UPS-Porcupine Friday and Saturday and finished off the trip w/ an Amasa back run yesterday. Day 2 on UPS-Porcupine was incredible. Once you start recognizing features in the trail, single drops and jumps turn into bigger gappers and step-downs. So much fun.
