Roof towers for factory BMW rails?

    Tech Talk, bitch! (heh)

So here's my quandry: I need to find the right model Thule or Yak towers to fit the factory rails on a 1992 BMW 525iTouring. The OEM parts are like $700 and near impossible to find. The shop monkeys at Rack Attack tell me they only have gutter mounts for this model. There has to be something that'll fit!

Anyone with more roofrack experience than me have any ideas???

Are those factory rails front to back? General idea on dimensions?

You have a 92 BMW wagon; a fine car made by zee Germans, yaa?

I once drove a 92 VW wagon; a fine car made also made by zee Germans, yaa? I believe Thule factory rack converters are currently residing in my garage.

I'd be willing to try to shneffelhoussen the VW parts onto zee yuppiescumwaggen. Worth a shot anyway.

And yes, basom. It's a fact. Also a fact worth noting is that my very capable 4x4 pickup will get me anywhere I want in anything less than 4-feet of snow.

    Dude. Serious.

You thought I'd give up my bruiser pickup for a grocery getter?
