Looking for a carbon split...damn loonie...
I am also riding a Khyber 160 (custom stiff) for 3 seasons, and thinking to go for a Swallowtail split this year.
How does it compare to the Khyber?

I think it´s an amazing snowboard for what it is, and excels at some types of riding, meaning powder. What really amazes me about it, is that even with a wide stance, centered up, it still has no real need to nose dive, even with a minimalistic backwards lean, it´s a lot more happy with turning the nose upwards in the snow.
Other bonuses is that it´s entirely glass free, meaning there´s only carbonfibre and polypropylene(base) wrapped around it. This makes it very, very light.

It still has a very good amount of edge grip, but not dominatingly much so.

These, icy clusterfuck, days I use it all night long as a tool for fucking around and just having fun on the "groomers". I have the 162, which feels to me like an ideal length for this model. I´m 5´10", 190 lbs, and need to lose some weight.
I used to rock the design 162 but was attacked by canadian lynx my second day out. The fucker took a giant bite out of the sidewall and base. I was riding a 158 the past two years, and loved it. It eats the pow and the crud up.

The nidecker is very light and I was a little skeptical about it after my first run, but after a few more runs I fell in love with it. It is killer in powder, but is not the best for cutting through crud because of the light weight I'd imagine. The crossbow does a much better job in that stuff.
I think the demo fleet on these is related to the amount bought by stores in the first place. Snowboard demos where I live in Norway are very few and far between, so I usually just take my chances and go by word of mouth. This way, I ended up buying an Agent pre-season, didn´t like it much, sold it, and bought the Design eventually, knowing this would be a good board, as I borrowed last season´s for a couple of days. It was better. I know what you mean about light boards feeling too light - I thought the tail on my Design would snap before I rode it - very thin. It´s a lot safer than what I assumed initially.

If you have the spare money, see if you can grab one on the season ender sales. Shouldn´t be more than $400, and for that money, there´s no real reason not getting one. I´m getting another one for next season, just in case I snap my current.

Apparently Rome is really cool with their warranty policy. I guess they regularly replace snapped or cracked boards. Though, I think my nxt board whenever Iget one, will be a Nevr summer. They seem to make the perfect boards for cutting through the crud and heavy snow Tahoe can get.

Where do you get your info? Just curious, since i sent my lynx bite afflicted board in two weeks ago. Most people weren't too optimistic about it being warranteed.

I was doing a little research on them a few weeks ago looking for a new board and their warranty policy seemed to come up fairly often. I know on snowboard colonies' forums i read about a few stories where rome replaced broken boards.
