    Ski Movie Soundtrack

Can someone post the soundtrack to the Classic Greg Stump Movie Groove? Does anyone know if this movie is out on DVD?

Ok, stop already, just don’t answer the guy if it’s a question your sick of. Plus it’s really hard to find that music because it’s so old.

I went back and watch some Stump movies last night. I think there better than anything made today, mostly because you can see the skiers. Stump mixes it up a ton. When was the last time you saw bump skiing or skiing cut powder in a movie?

A long time ago, and I hope it stays that way.

Check out Mike Hattrup in some of Stumps movies, he rips. It gives a perspective of how good those guys were.

....I'm on par with that statement. I think the big difference is the originality he put in the movies. From the music, editing, the LENGTH, the styles of skiers/boarders, it was more creative...and thus to me...more entertaining.

Most of the movies today have the sick terrain I want to see, I cannot complain about this.... but unfortunately, year after year its the same. The same skiers skiing the same terrain, hitting the same jump, etc, with basically just a different song for each athlete.....sometimes even the same artist. Ok, I understand the issues with music rights, I've made a small film years back and I too used my roomates record label, and friends of friends, and their friends, to get free music....but more creatively can be used...I buy fewer and fewer movies every year.

I want another RAP film! But last I heard (hearsay) is that decided to make porn films.

    rant over...

Groove sountrack is mostly Seal, if I am not mistaken. From his first self-titled album. Great stuff. I still love skiing to "Crazy" on my ipod.

This thread got me thinking about three things.

    1) I loaned my copy of "Groove" to a friend 5 years ago and never got it back. Asshole!

    2) Stump makes great ski movies. Really great ski movies.

    3) The scene where Scot Schmidt is skiing with Dan Donnelly (snowboarding),to Seal singing Whirlpool, is as soulful as it gets.
    Legalize it. Don't criticize it.

The DVD is out. I bought it last year. It came with a four disc collection. It is called the Greg Stump Foursome. I saw it and had to have it. Classic.

I LOVED that segment in high school. Used to watch it over and over every night on my cableless TV.

The other night, I started getting the "unofficial License to Thrill soundtrack" underway. I'm trying to compile it seemlessly through beatmatching each song in the original order from the film. It's about 85% vinyl as 2 songs were never released and 1 track cd only. I've spent WAY too much time on this, but it should be done this week.
