It rained so much the last couple of days that Bogus Basin has closed until they receive more snow.

day 4 of a 7-day dream trip to w/b that I've been planning for a whole year.
It rained every single day we were here so far, and the forecast is that it'll rain every day for the rest of our trip, too.

today it's 34º at the peak (everything on the upper mountain is closed) and raining in the valley, so the nice high-elevation conditions I had yesterday are basically destroyed..

my day of heli-skiing has been cancelled. my wife, who is a beginner skier, can't ski anything above the slushzone. she is downright depressed.

yeah. fuck the pineapple express. fuck it in the ass with a chainsaw gently.

I disagree, 3 feet of pow in Coloraddy last week re-affirmed my belief in early season ski trips. However, I feel the pain of those who are less lucky, it's about 60 here in NJ now, so yeah, the weather sucks most places, but don't worry, it'll get better.

The rockies are a different story, one 3 foot storm doesn't mean much if you don't have a base (not saying that Colorado doesn't)... If you spend months ahead planning a trip, it just works better to go in February or March.

I'm in the same boat as you steve. I convinced my parents to come out from colorado for a week and book a place at whistler. I can't complain about the skiing the last two days, but its been a disappointing week. December is the only chance I get for a ski trip because of college.
