The rumor is Loveland on friday. Basin site says oct 21.

I've yet to see that anything is absolute yet, but we'll be there when it happens.

Compromise. Worked a deal with my parents: if I come home for fall break, they don't make me come home for Thanksgiving (when it will probably be dumping and I'll be teaching my lady to ski... Pray I can avoid mental conflict somehow).

BTW, watch the news. It's supposed to be on tonight. "You could be skiing friday. We'll tell you where."

BWWWaAAAAHAHHAHAHAHAAA. Wait. You're talking about Colorado right? Good luck kid. Seriously I hope it is but...yeah good luck. Most years I lived in Summit we were stoked to have a 25" base by Thanksgiving.

Whoever wants to ski Loveland early days without getting a pass should get on one of those four packs pretty quicklike. They have to be mailed to you and it takes a week. http://www.skiloveland.com/shopNew/p...pass.htm#4paks Or just buy the discount card, it's a pretty good deal: http://www.skiloveland.com/shopNew/p...velandpasscard

A Basin really does suck in comparison. Although of course I'll hang out there some as well.

It'd be cool if somebody called over to A Basin today and asked them when they're gonna open. Ask patrol, not the ticket office. I think I'm going to Breck to get my pass today. Wonder how that new chair is doing. I'm actually psyched for that chair - should be fun.

Last bit of giddyness for the moment - I think it'd be awesome to get a group together to head down to Wolf Creek on opening day.

Ridiculously excited to ride my first chair of the season.

And to the moron that says we don't have anything to ski on thanksgiving: fvck off, loser. Go to Utah or something.

    Particle speaks the truth though.

Besides, Max is gonna be teachin his girlie to ski and by turkey day we usually just have enough to entertain a beginner = perfect.

I'll probably go on Sat, maybe Fri.

I'll be the one wearing jeans on snowlerblades, clutching a handle of bourbon and snow saucer.

Last Thanksgiving wasn't bad... 12-20" everywhere in Summit and 24" down in Wolf Creek. I'd say that's worth staying in town for.

yeah I'll be skiing this year (getting a basin pass) but only after hunting season is basically over or if things start getting actually good early. Likely be most weekends by mid-Jan

Really, Loveland is not that bad on opening weekend. Last two years the line wasn't that bad - maybe 5 to 10 minute wait, compared to Abasin's 30-45 minute wait.
