PSA: Cheap LCD Monitor (not mine, a good deal, and yes, NSR!)

If anyone is in the market for a widescreen LCD monitor, Dell has their 2005FPW on sale now... they fluctuate amazingly in price, and you have to find coupon codes. The monitor kicks ass. Same screen as the Apple 20" Cinema Display (literally) with a brighter backlight. Details here
    I'm using one now and just bought a 2nd one : )

$394 (they go for $700 full price)

    Use following codes:

    $60 of $500: 82JMMHN1GRWXLZ
    35% off Monitor: D8Q403R9G4FJ32

I'm not making any $ off this of course, but I've been looking for a chance to buy a second one at this price for at least a month... so I thought I'd pass it along.

If no one cares, or the deal expires quickly I'll delete this thread.

Thanks so much! I got over $400 off a 2405FPW flat screen! I just ordered a new computer, and I've been eyeing this flat screen for a while. I know that a setup with 2 smaller screens is in vogue, but there's just something about having one big-mamma screen.

    Thanks again for the info.

The 2405 is super sweet too.

This looks like a sweet deal. I'm just not sure if my video card will support this monitor. I have an asus eax600 series card (based on the ATI Radeon X600).

It supports resolutions up to 2048x1536 but doesn't give me the specified resolution of 1680x1050 (as called for on the Dell site). The card does give me a 1920x1200 option (which is what's needed for the 2405).

I tried to Google for ya, but didn't come up with anything conclusive. It's only about $50 for a compatable Radeon 9600 card though, which isn't too bad. I wonder if Dell customer support would tell you what video cards support the monitor's native res.

Jesus, I'm broke and I think I'm going to get one of those. My main monitor just kinda died on me before I left......and I won't have to tote around a 21" CRT anymore!

Looks awesome. My work laptop is a Dell Precision M70 and the widescreen LCD screen is pretty sweet on that. I'm not sure the graphics card on my home PC will support this monitor, either. It's an Nvidia GeForce MX 440 just in case anyone knows for sure.

Do you have a small business or did you just fake it? Trying to decide if I should just make-up a name for a business and get one?

They ask for a business name and I just made one up... "Spanky Enterprises" (well, not really Spanky, but my last name).
