    Is anyone obsessing over skiing

Ok, is anyone having problems sleeping? I can't hardly wait to ski. This is the first time in my life that I have obsessed over it so much. Looking at the weather all the time, watching ski movies, going to this site, training for skiing, buying tons of new gear, not doing work and writing this stuff, etc. And last night I couldn't sleep maybe because Co. was getting snow and we are not. Am I the only one who is doing this? I have skied my whole life but over the last two or three years I'm getting more and more focused on it maybe its because I know I'm getting old and I won't be hucking for many more years. I need to see a mind doc!

Yes, though it isn't just skiing, it's being allowed to bike, hike, and generally be active again.

Yeah, it really is starting to get bad, this weekend I went up to Mammoth and everytime I looked up at the mountain it was hard to swallow, the top had some white on it, but I can't wait until it really starts.

GOOD, I feel a little better that I'm not alone. Today I worked about 4 maybe 5 hours but the rest of the time talking about skiing looking at TGR forum planning trips etc. My house opens thanksgiving day weekend I can't wait to move my junk up there.

What's your problem again? You seem perfectly normal to me. But then again, I'm not exactly normal I suppose...Keep up the good work in the obsession department, you're not alone....

Not having trouble sleeping, but definately spending money I shouldn't be spending on gear ... a bit of each. Skiis, board, boots, boots, beacon, etc. TOO MUCH! My gear is in my living room staring at me.....

(Yes, can you tell I'm excited???????!!!!!!!)

I just got Hit List on Monday.....it has been on constantly since then (maybe 20 showings thus far). The only time I dont watch it is right before bed....because I know it will keep me up.

The only thing I can do to make myself feel better is workout. Then at least I feel I am progressing towards the season. My rest days (like today) are the worst.....so here I am on TGR.

Oh yeah....work is not very productive right now either.

i know i am, i obsess about skiing all the time, all summer, all winter, but this is the worst time of year. In the past month or so i've just about memorized the past two issues of powder, i think i've just about tripled my post count on here. (sorry, i know, im obnoxious, go fuck yourselves ) and i basically torture myself non-stop thinking about this season. Its ok though, a couple nights ago, i had a really vivid dream about skiing, so i was happy for a while. Anybody else get those?

Welcome to your first official off-season as a maggot. You've almost made it--another month or so to go. Congratulations!

Ski dreams fucking rock. I had a dream I was at Targhee just two nights ago. Once I actually felt like I was skiing for a good solid 10 min before I was really asleep. Concentrate really hard on the feeling of snow beneath your feet, and it's easy enough.

Damnit, dem blue ballz just made da jones worse!

Luckily, biking has been able to be my obsession since May, but in that last week skiing has taken over mainly due to Tangerine Dream and the 25" of snow in the mountains.

    Nope. Not at all.

Climbing and biking have been pretty good of late, so the jones hasn't kicked in.

Well lets see I bought "Sinners". I have OCD with weather sites, checking back hourly to see if the forecast changed to cold/snow. Checking Killington's Website daily to see when they are going to make snow.(yes i know Killington sucks but they are the only game in the east early in the season). googling over various fat twins on ebay wondering what i am going to buy to complete my quiver.

so yes of course obsession what would life be if we couldnt do that.

Only half the time, the other half I spend obsessing about how I can move to the rockies.

Actually after my wife saw Extreme Home Makeover a couple of nights ago, she has finally given in to admitting she would rather live in the mountains than here. We have come to an agreement that we will pull the trigger in 18-24 months. So the obsessing will continue until the truck is packed.

Yes obsessing, and it does not make it any easier that this has been the toughest year of my life - someday I might be able to tell that story. In the meantime, I am jonesing for some skiing.
