unfortunately i know what socrealism is, although i do believe you mean "socialist realism"

edit: i forgot the punchline: the statue still stands, 16 years after communism fell from grace. one reason not to pull it down is that nobody really knows how to do it safely, it's that big!

i apologise beforehand, but i'm going to go off on the tangent here.
socialist relism is responsible for some of the ugliest monuments to stand the earth presently. observe the following specimen in its all ugly glory:
