Can't find it either. I have heard about some preseason craziness in those parts, though. Some friends and I had planned to make that one of the first hits of the season; if you want in, holler.

I will be in Utah on a Kayak trip next weekend, but I would definitely consider busting out this weekend if we can get some reliable info that there is a decent amount of snow in there. I have heard that the Conundrum keeps snow year-round as well, anyone know this to be true?

Last year end of september-oct 1st, it was literally waist deep on the couloir coming off conundrum. Huge sluff, steep narrow chute, some of the best turns of the year nabbed in september. I twas probobally knee deep in the basin itself
It looks like theres enough snow to ski the bowl right now. But I would go hit it up after the first snow of the season. It could easily dump a nice 1-2 feet up there, and it will probally start coming down wet enough to bond to the deathcrust thats sitting on the ground. Steep stable deep turns in colorado. getum while you can
Now THAT's what I am looking for! This looks pretty feckin' schweet...Originally Posted by cmor

thats when i was up there, thats chute is a bit longer, bit more filled in lower down. The one coming of conundrum is a little higher in the fun factor, but had a 10 foot vertical ice wall at the top of it when i was there. I don't know what it looks like now, but I would consider bringing something like a 7mm 30m rope to wrap down it if you don't want your first turn of the season to be a bit of a huck. And I believe its east facing, if you hit it right after the first decent snow and the sun comes out, it will rain down death upon you. I was at the top by sunrise.Originally Posted by Dside11-11
I'd be interested; this weekend is probably out, but sounds like it might be best to wait a bit anyway. Next weekend I'm open, but I see you're out. Keep me posted, we'll see what the schedule looks like in coming weeks.Originally Posted by Dside11-11
cmor makes it sound like we should wait till the poop comes. May hit the Conundrum early as opposed to Castle. I guess it keeps snow almost year-round.

yea, that pic has me wondering why im in montana instead of at home, even if it is 04. on a related note, anyone know the name of that burly couloir on conundrom, facing castle? The one that always has the, big mandatory air in, cornice up top?
