Cascade snow was right purdy - it dumped on Rainier

A friend and I hiked from Corral Pass to Noble Knob late this afternoon...it snowed almost the whole time and went from amazing fall color to full-on winter white. It was fully dark by the time we got back to the car at 7:30[/happy dance]

A little sunshine mixed with snow, about 5:30 p.m.

A lot of color still to be found in the meadows

Welcome to winter, throw away your watch! (non-mag JP, about 4,000-4,500 feet)

I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones.

I drove over Stevens Pass Sunday and the snow level was just above the pass. Not a whole lot of snow, but there was some white up there! The weather has definitely turned the corner around here. Winter is on its way.

Just got back from another hike, lower elevation today but there's a lot of snow on the peaks up toward Chinook Pass, and Rainier looks like it got huge dumpage--completely transformed from last week.
