In my opinion, this should be about skiing/riding.

    That is all.

    Edit: I like mntlions idea
I agree, that's what I voted for too, but feedback is good since not all the maggettes are checking the gmail account....

And I like mtnlions idea too, as long as we're prepared to do the legwork to piece it together so it's ready when we submit it to whoever. (Is FNG on here anymore?)

We went an entire season without gathering up necessary action shots, and now you're adding a SECOND shot - one that means studio time and professional photographer?? I say, get what you can get. There are some rad action shots submitted, and also some rad posed shots - it'll end up being a mixed bag - if it comes together at all.

and yes, I'm guilty of not getting it together last season to get pics taken - but I talked about doing it an awful lot

That's a good point. Probably should just set the deadline, and put it together with what you got at that point. If it means you're short, then double up the extra pics from others in a collage or something for the months that you're short.

Okay, so I voted for bold (not that it's a secret, everyone can see it), but really, why isn't this up to the maggettes themselves. If a maggette chooses to submit only action shots, and confirms through emails that that's all she wants, why should they need to provide a skin shot. If a maggette feels comfortable with putting a skin shot in the calendar, that's her choice. I don't understand why there appears to be a need to standardize the whole thing.

Personnally, I don't want every month's layout to look identical with the maggette assigned to that month being the only thing that changes. Let's mix it up a little bit folks.

As far as working towards a deadline, I have to agree with Splat...do it once, do it right, no matter how long that may take.

I guess I'm just confused. From the whole group of threads and conversations over the past months, I was under the impression that we were doing both shots, an action shot and a skin-esque shot (yes, that can mean clothed!!!! ) to show what the maggette lookes like without goggles and snow gear. I'm just kind of surprised at all the sudden anti-skin/only action bits. That never came up in my memory of how this all went originally. If that were the case, I wouldn't have bothered going through all the effort to actually get a sexy picture at all!

I'm frustrated. This picks up steam and everyone's excited because it's "actually going to happen", then gets dropped and forgotten for a long time with no one doing anything. Decisions seem to be made, then get changed. People get upset because we're suggesting something that was discussed and sem-decided six months ago.

I'm just trying to step up and make sure something gets done. Sorry if that offends anyone.

Fine, just get the shots you want done by January 30th and call it good. Put together your / our own layouts with your / our mad skills. If you don't get them done, too bad. Go from there.

I agree, variation is good, the problem is just that no one is doing anything. (Forgive me, I know some maggettes have posted pics in the gmail account. But that's it, it isn't going anywhere from there, and not everyone has done it.) Leaving everything up to us isn't really working.

I'm with AC on this...Big action shot, small "skin" shot. But I also like the idea of a bio corner as well. I think that the fewer pics that we need, the easier it will be to 1. get all the pictures together (getting 1 ski shot and one "skin" shot will be easier than trying to compile a collage of action shots) and 2. organize the layout. We need a standard layout for each month or else FNG could have a helluva time putting this together. And as Yetna has pointed out, this little project has lost momentum, regained momentum...and gone nowhere at this point. If we are gonna do it, we need to do it. And I think that the action shot is the most important piece. The "skin" shot doesn't have to be professionally done, just something classy (and to the respective maggette's liking) that is of good quality.

I agree that you should do it once and do it right, but if you are always waiting to do it once will it ever get done? Sometimes you have to pull the trigger with what you got or nothing gets done. And in this case that would suck since there are some great pics in there from what i've heard.

I know that there's enough interest in the maggots that we'd turn a profit for charity fairly quickly, so i wouldn't mind putting some of my own money up to cover costs if i have some availible. The thing is, it all rests on you girls to get shots that you're happy with to make this inagural calendar something the remember. So whenever you get the shots together, I can start the process of putting the physical calendar together.

Sorry I wasn't around to back you up earlier. Reading the thread confused me aswell. Thank you, Yetna, for keeping the momentum going.

Lets do our damndest to get the best shots we can (and are comfortable with) and get them to FNG. I know what Splat is saying when he says do it once and do it well but be can only do our best with our time/resources/skills etc. Lets just hope that the end product is something that the maggots will be willing to spend a little bit of money on and help a charity or two in the process.

Okay, maybe I need to be more clear when I type. I was just looking to offer my input...I guess I should take more than 30 seconds to throw some posts together.

Yes, deadlines need to be issued to get things done, but in this case, is there an idea of a deadline for when this thing is supposed to hit the market? If not, why not put the deadline at May 1st and allow for the entire season to truly get the best winter action shots possible? It might make the difference between this being released in July vs. next Jan...but that's seems to me to be a short time to get a truly great product. As for those that already have thier shots in, start doing the layups on those now, maybe there will only be 2 or 3 layups to complete when the photo deadline rolls around (whenever that may be)...and yes, FNG needs to be located for that to happen.

As for the layouts, yeah, I'd love to see dramatic differences between each month. That said, having a main, large, action shot with a smaller skin shot in the corner sounds great to me (a bio would definitely be cool, be it in the corner of the pic, or on a back page). Would it really be that difficult to move that smaller shot to a different corner of the page for the next month?...probably not. I was just looking for something that had a little more creativity than Microsoft Calendar Creater For Idiots.

As for the maggette input, if someone truly only wanted an action shot, is that really a problem? It would be great to see what you girls actually look like under the helmet, goggles, gore-tex, etc...but that's your call, and if you want your skiing to be how we see you, more power to you.

Thanks, support appreciated. I think it'll come together if everyone sticks to the January 30th deadline. Hopefully we can help a charity or two, that's the goal right? Grin.

Edit: we can wait for May 1st if we want, but some people wanted it by the mini. Which I just realized I don't know when is......but Jan 30th gives more time for people w/o action shots to get them in.

Debra Field was convicted of violating the Hobart, Ind., nuisance ordinance in July by keeping two 300-pound hogs as pets, after neighbors complained of the smell produced by the pigs' estimated 35 pounds of waste per day. Fields had testified, apparently seriously, that she personally couldn't smell her pigs at all. [WKMG-TV-AP, 7-25-05]

I say show some/all skin, action shots then sell the calendar and give proceeds to charity ...

I love Washington. I hear people really love their animals here--and being loved by them. Buster, any truth to the rumor that people get fucked by horses in your neck of the woods?

Back to the subject at hand, this "skin shot" thing is so Freekskier magazine. The loney hearts on this board need to register for Bangbus.com or hit-up a no rules strip club.
