Naxo toe line probs? (mounted related)

I was playing with my Naxo's in the garage the other day, setting them to my new boots, and I was reminded of a problem from when I mounted them. I lined the toe line up from the paper jig with the toe line on the ski (195cm K2 AK Launchers) and drilled. Then, when I mounted up and put my boots in, the boot toes are a good 1.5cm behind the toe line. Anyone else have this problem? Did I maybe have a bad paper template? I am going to remount them anyway, way forward from where they are now. I think I am going to go about 2cm forward of toe line. Would this be a little far forward for a non-twin AT setup? I want the skis to really drive and I want to force short radius turns easier...

Dude I don't know. I mounted mine using boot sole center and used the template that came in the box. They are fine. If it's not twin tip I think you're supposed to go boot sole. Ask a shop to double check...Good luck.

Umm, I'm guessing an AK Launcher line would be boot center. Most alpine skis are.

Also, never trust the printed marks - check each ski for distance and center - ski graphics are often screwy.

Assuming the AK Launcher marks are really toe line, since you have them mounted, why not wait till the snow flies to see if they work? No sense re-mounting if this could be optimal. 1.5cm back is classic pow backcountry goodness.

Also, if its a telemark "pin line" then realize that that is a cm or so forward of the actual end of the toebox.

It is for sure the toe line. K2 did the toe line for a long time. On some models, they varied so that you were actually using a toe line to achieve a boot sole center, but on the Lawnchairs (yellow ones) there is just one toe line. I looked at them again, and I exagerated a little earlier. They are about 1/2cm back. I skied on them all last season. I think I still might move them to be about 1cm forward from suggested toe line, though. If they were 190's or 185's, I'd leave them there, but the 195 is a pretty big stick for me (I'm 5'10").
