I think for any used ipod you should bank on buying one of those in the near future anyway, but my battery is definitlly not up to par anymore.
I would be willing to sell decentlly cheap or trade for ski gear.... I need a pair of light fats - 180-190 depending.
tlt toe pieces, 130mm skins, let me know. I'd pay any value difference. you seem to have lots of stuff.
from what i've gathered, used ipods aren't worht buying, i've had to send my ipod in to get repaired/replaced about 10 times in 4 years, without that service, they're useless after a few months, especially if you plan on skiing with them.
how about a shuffle? 1 gig, no moving parts, no screen to break, no extra cables or base stations to plug into. who cares if it gets scratched? i've had mine since they started selling them in .ca and only care to change the music in it once a month (it takes three times longer to choose the music to put on than actually transferring a gig to it) but it's the main music player in my car. you can recharge it at any computer with a usb plug.
no bells and whistles. cheap enough so you don't have to buy second hand -- $189 in best buy.
I dunno about the ipods are worthless idea.
Definitely don't get a hard drive ipod for bouncing around (skiing and jogging).
Even if it survives the abuse, you will burn the battery uber-quick since the skipping disk will have to read, re-read, re-read, etc. to get clean data.
Disk ipods rock for holding your whole library for home, car, travelling.
Solid State ipods rule for jogging and bouncing on trampolines.
oh, and there are better batteries out there if you need replacements.
i've got a brand new Mini, still in the box that I can sell you. Its green in color. I got it with my iBook. I already have a 20g, so I dont need another. Let me know if youre intersted...
