    Legend Pro 194 mounting question

Anyone any advice on mounting point on the new Legend Pro 194?

I've been skiing the Prorider 194 for 2 years and had them @ about 0 cm (mid-sole). Felt oke........

Curious if anyone has been skiing the new 194 (97mm) either mounted forward or back.............

Hey Pointedem.......is that measured all along the running surface including the tail? Or in a straight line from the tail?

How does 845m compare with the mid-sole point on the ski? Haven't got them yet. Will be there in 2 weeks.

    Thanx

I don't think there is a mid-sole mark on the LPs. And you measure along the topsheet (flat, with a tape measure) including the tail.

Is 845 mm what Dynastar recoomends? I think some felt that the recommended mounting point on the 186 cm (805mm if I remember correctly) was a little too far forward. Like a cm or so.

Whatever the Dynastar rec was for last year (84.5 with tape pressed from tail) you should go another cm back.

Just measured the old Proriders (194) and there the mid-sole mark is at ca. 825mm from the tail.
So 2 cm back compared to the suggested 845mm on the new Legend.............

dats what my rep told me while ago for the 94 proriders (90mm). 845mm with tape/ string from tail. Personally, thought it was perfect.

I have a pair of Super Nobis at 845, always felt great.
Bought another used pair with the LP topsheet and mounted them Fritschi at 845 and they felt too forward.
For the second mount, I wish I were at least back 1cm at 835 (possibly back 2cm).

    Why would that be?
Difference in ski flex? I dont think they changed the layup. I should check which ski is softer. What would cause more tip dive- a stiffer ski?
But it seems all Bros have same mount point whether soft, stiff or super stiff, so maybe it doesn't matter.

Difference in binding ramp angle? Fritschi has less ramp, but in theory, that would keep my CG further back.

    So mysterious.

Of course, none of this experience with the 90mm LP 194 helps you with the 97mm LP 194, other than the fact that your skinny LPs were 2cm back from mine, and prolly perfect for pow, but not as good for hardpack.

If a ski were made wider with the same sidecut and length, in theory I would think the boot center would remain the same, no?

Sorry to revive this old thread.

Last year I had a pair of 194 LPs (97mm waist) that I mounted tele with boot center on the dimple on the topsheet (84.5 cm from tail). That mount point felt a bit too far forward in deeper and mixed snow.

Anyway, I bent those skis and Dynastar replaced them. I just measured my new LPs and the dimple on the topsheet is 83.5cm from the tail. Looks like Dynastar has come back a bit from the original mounting suggestion.

I'd go 82.5 on those legends.
    FWIW, I started a mid-mark thread here

Thanx coach for reviving this old thread

I think I will go for something like 82,5 from the back as it will be accompanied by a pair of Made'ns (189) and a Seth Vicious (179) both with a forward mount of about 3 cm's. So I could do with a decent "old-skool-in-the-backseat" ski.

Core Shot, I think that in theory it makes a difference if you just widen up a ski. Because if you take a core center mounting and add 1 cm in width you will get the same amount of ski extra in the tip and the tail. The further you go back the bigger the difference between the extra amount of ski in front and behind the binding. This will influence forces.
I would say that if the same ski gets wider you could/should go a little bit forward (in theory!) with the binding.
