    RIP Prince of Darkness

I am sure everyone, including Ozzy himself, wants to know how he lasted as long as he did.

..according to one of our AI overlords Ozzy deliberately beheaded a dove with his teeth during a meeting with record company executives.. He wanted to make an impression.. The bat incident was supposedly going to a rubber toy bat... and someone apparently wanted more verisimilitude and substituted a live bat.... Maybe Cheeto face will order Bondi to start an investigation to find out the truth of the matter.

Got to see Ozzy on his Blizzard of Oz tour with Randy. Motorhead opened. One of the more epic concerts of my misspent youth. Rip Prince of Darkness!

Ozzy's final concert, "Back to the Beginning," had a stacked lineup. Not to mention Black Sabbath's original band reunited for the first time in decades.A huge show just a couple of weeks before checking out is an incredible way to say goodbye, and he sounded remarkably goo too:

Never was a fan of his phony schtick and didn't think much of his vocal abilities. But RIP anyway.

Theres always one asshole thinking his opinion matters in these RIP threads. You dont have to like him but think before you type. Do you realize all his fans are in on the shctick? Ozzy admits over and over it was an act? Theres a whole TV series about him showing in fact the schtick is a schtick? Do you think all metalheads worship the devil? Are you looking down from your high horse yet not in on the joke? An do you think we all praise his voice as the Mariah Carey of metal but only you know his voice is not top tier?

By all accounts a good dude. I graduated from Kiss about the time Blizzard of Oz came out. It blew our 7th grade minds. While I think Diary is the better of the RR Ozzy records, still both great records. Ive been listening to a lot of Ozzy the last week. I think saying you dont care for a rock stars phony shtick or vocal abilities hilarious. I dont think you get rock and roll, yeahman</p>

riser4's video is excellent. It's fun to see great bands perform a new sound when they were young before they became polished

If you expand the description, there's a link to the "full playlist" for the 12/20/70 show. Its my favorite Black Sabbath YouTube collection.

I've always sought out authenticity in rock rather than glam showmanship. Probably why I gravitated toward punk and eschewed arena acts. Randy Rhoads was a ripper though, I'll grant you that. RIP to him too.

Punk rock is probably the most shticky of all the genres in it trying so hard to be non-shticky. I love punk rock, but I have no illusions of it not being a show.
