Riding near Chilliwack, BC?

We are camping in Bellingham for the better part of a week and have 4 days to make our way back to NW Montana. We ride Rossland, Nelson, and Castlegar regularly but have never hit the other interior BC spots, even when we lived in Bellingham.

    Any feedback on the region?

Unfortunatley we will be a week too early for the opening of First Blood in Hope. It seems like there is decent riding around Abbotsford and Chilliwack though?

Vedder, Sumas and Ledgeview were the main riding areas out there but normally we wouldn't drive beyond the Woodlot. It's been 20 years since I've done any riding in the area so I can't say what is good now.

Although it looks like Woodlot has seen a bunch of trails rebuilt in the last few years. If you like wood features and jumps it could be worth a stop there.

If you head across Hwy 3 there is good riding not far away in Penticton and Kelowna. LeeLau was just in that area and could give some current recs.

Was also thinking of Penticton. I have done Kelowna and Vernon before.

    Penticton riding

Lots of good options. Three Blind Mice is very popular.Google it as cut and paste does not work.

Vedder is top-notch riding. I also like Big Blue/Magic at Chilliwack Community Forest, if you can get through a hike-a-bike - some of the best sustained dirt surfing west of the Kootenays.

Sumas, Ledeview and Bear are fun as well, if you’re in the area.

Booked a site in Chilliwack for 2 nights. We will be trading off, so making it count is key. Any recs on specific trails? Also, recs for fun trails for the 8-year-old could be helpful.

You really can't go wrong on Vedder. Check out past enduro race routes for some loop ideas. Blackhawk Down is a personal favourite. As I said, Big Blue/Magic at Chilliwack Community Forest are excellent but involve a ~1 hour hike a bike to get to (probably why they're good).

Re: Vedder race routes, this is a good one: https://www.trailforks.com/route/201...ntense-cycles/

I haven't ridden them in a while, but I remember the Tamihi trails being fun as well (e.g. Nut cracker, slimy bastard, etc.) but not that long a ride to hit them all: https://www.trailforks.com/region/ta...outes_featured
A few years old, but this gives you an idea of the flavour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fs2sQ_CePlA
