    Almost Panhandle rides

Hey collective- am wondering what you might recommend in the Moscow- Orofino- Lewiston zone for next week. Going one of the long ways from Tetons to Couer d'Alene and want to ride. Moderates preferred, but we like some tech too.

Photo from Pocatello for your visual enjoyment.

I’ve heard good things about the trails at Moscow Mountain. Never ridden there.

Still a little early for the true high country rides.

If you’re in the CDA area:

    Mount Spokane
    Bernard Peak
    Mica Peak
    CDA mountain/Beauty Bay

I’ve ridden Mica & Mount Spokane. Both worthwhile. Heard good things about the others.

If you can go the really long way, the Schweitzer lower basin trails are riding great, and don’t forget we’re not too far from Nelson, Fernie, Rossland, etc.

    Almost Panhandle rides

Tons of new trails have recently been added to Mica, highly recommend. It’s snow free to the summit as well.

Mt Spokane had snow/blowdown from the summit to the Selkirk lot last weekend.

Below that, lower two-ninety was PRIMO!!

Not far from your route there's a forgettable trail system on/around Bald Mountain near Potlatch. It's a waste of time made worse by recent logging, trail signs being reversed or just relocated by quad riders, inaccurate mentions (with maps) on trail websites and even faint "roads" on Google maps that can't have been there for a century.

If you can find it, the Strychnine Ridge trail is kind of fun, but Moscow is a better idea.

Haha thanks Jono now we will know what to avoid. And I went looking for a conversation you and I had last fall- couldn't find it.

That's awesome to hear, I haven't hit that since the fire. Rode the local Mushroom trail last week and it reminded me a ton of Bernard.

HMS, I think I was originally looking for places along Lolo when we talked, but I didn't find anything I can recommend first hand. There was a connection to the Idaho Centennial Trail across Hwy 12 that I looked into a bit, though.
