    From Kevin Smith via insta

“Like many Gen X kids, I first encountered @valkilmerofficial in the @marthacoolidge movie REAL GENIUS, in which he played Chris Knight - a brilliant, Bugs Bunny-ish college kid who runs circles around the faculty and his enemies while brimming with charm and a sly sense of humor. Years later, when I met Val via old fashioned pen-to-paper correspondence (he wrote me a letter to say how much he loved Dogma), I was delighted to discover that he wasn’t playing: he WAS Chris Knight. And he was Doc Holiday. And he was Batman. And he was Jim Morrison. And he was Nick Rivers. And he was Ice Man. And he was Madmartigan. And he was Gay Perry. And he was John Holmes. And he was Moses. And he was Mark Twain. And years after he sent me that lovely letter, he was my Bluntman. They tell you to never meet your heroes - but they were wrong when it came to Kilmer. He was everything you hoped he was and nothing you expected. Thank you, Val, for a lifetime of movie memories - including on one of my own flicks. You truly were our Huckleberry. (I’ve also included the post I wrote about Val back in 2019 when I could finally reveal his involvement in the flick after everyone saw him in the Reboot trailer.)”

one of his lesser known films, KILL ME AGAIN is streaming on Prime.
it's a fantastic neon noir and highly recommended.

Val left a Mark on the world that made it better. Salton Sea is an underrated gem but Real Genius will always be my first thought when I hear his name

Rewatched Tombstone and better than remembered.
Thanks for putting this here dooks

Believe it or not, I have never seen Real Genius all the way through…just the popcorn finale.

My first taste of VK was Top Secret

I need to revisit Salton Sea.

Another one of his seldom seen/underrated films is Spartan.
    Highly recommend that one.
