This just in, Vail has purchased Alterra in what could be the end of the ski pass wars, and the end of skiing as we know it. In the press release, Vail states that they will now be offering just one product, a $8k "Epikon" pass that will include access to every ski area on earth. All other pass products will be eliminated.
