SKI E O
Plake's front plate. I chuckled.
This is the truth.
Maybe I share Plake's mindset because I grew up spending hours and days skiing on small midwest bumps around the Great Lakes, but if you ask me, the day you pass up skiing because your only option is too small, or too boring, then that is the day when you have lost the entire point of skiing.
I still call it The Jake.
Stenmark grew up skiing a tiny bump too. Nobody remembers him either
It’s probably why Core Shot lives in flyover land now, lost his skiing soul
^^^ haha. Would quote you but the internet is broken. It don’t work anymore.
Anyone that’s suffered skiing landfills knows what I’m saying but others don’t want to hear
200 feet ain’t fun. Unless you are learning to tele. Or Smurf. Or go downhill on xc gear.
And yes. I willingly left the Midwest and even the Rockies for New England. Haven’t been a flat lander for thirty years.
Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
respectfully,
I don't think anyone shares Plake's mindset except Maybe Kimberly, but I expect theirs is more complimentary than identical ;
Hattrup could be close. and maybe some of you storm chasers who live in RVs and truck campers -
come to think of it, 'heating truck bed' easyrdr might have shared GP's mindset twenty years ago
( but even easy- got a normal (job) ).
I'm pretty-sure GP is one of a kind
( I really want to compare him with Stein
( I don't think anyone else compares in terms of longevity ) )
yes, long live Glen Plake. !
skiJ
^^ follow him quite a bit on insta - his trip really scored this year getting snow almost everyday. the more i ski at big resorts, the more i love hitting these smaller places instead. on board with the overall vibe - platty, magic, etc...
